“Are we playing a game?”

I touched the silky fabric, and Cole grabbed my hand, leading me down the hallway.

“No peeking.”

“Where are we going?”

“Shh… Don’t ruin the surprise. I want you to hear and smell everything.”

Excitement bubbled in my chest as we walked out of the house. Cole guided me into the passenger seat of his car and drove off the estate with the top down, the wind blowing through my hair.

He didn’t speak a word.

Even when I asked where we were going, he shushed me. But after a few minutes, the car slowed to a stop.

I reached up to touch the tie covering my eyes. “Am I allowed to look yet?”

“Not yet, brat. Be patient.”

My nose perked up at the scent of the bay. A distinct smell I would know anywhere after living in Devil’s Creek.

Cole opened my door and scooped me into his arms, removing the tie from my eyes. “Surprise.”

I glanced around at our new scenery, shocked to be standing in front of a mansion not as large as Fort Marshall but equally imposing.

“What are we doing here?”

He bent down to kiss my lips. “It’s time for us to move out of Fort Marshall. We’re married.” His hand dropped to my stomach. “We’re having our second child and need a place to raise our kids.”

We named Hale after my adoptive father because of his sacrifices to keep me safe. Without him, I wouldn’t be alive. I wouldn’t have the life I had always envisioned with Cole. And I wouldn’t be carrying our daughter, who we planned to name Willow after Cole’s mom.

“I love it.” I pressed my lips to his. “And I love you.”

He caressed my cheek with his hand, and I leaned into his touch. “I love you, too.”

Cole clutched my shoulders and steered me toward the backyard. We stared at the bay from the large veranda as the waves crashed on the beach.

“This place is incredible,” I muttered. “Hale is going to love it.”

Our son enjoyed sitting on the beach on my lap and watching the waves crash. And for the next few hours, he was with Alex and Bastian having a playdate with Sofia and the twins. I could already see Hale being best friends with Michelangelo and Leonardo Salvatore. They were only a few months apart and seemed to gravitate toward each other.

Our new house had balconies overlooking the water and an infinity pool. I envisioned our children running through the yard and playing on the beach.

It was perfect.

Neither of us wanted to move out of Devil’s Creek. The Knights were here. And Bastian lived down the block from us. Alex had become my best friend over the past year, and I couldn’t imagine not having her close by.

For most of my life, I had no family or friends. Only the Colonel. Now I had Cole and the Marshalls. I had my biological father and Vera. And the Salvatores, the Battles, and The Knights.

I was happy and content.

“How about we go inside and christen the house?” Cole slid his arm across my back and tapped his fingers on my hip. “We have a lot of surfaces to break in.”

I laughed at his suggestion and let him lead the way. Cole lifted me onto the granite counter in the kitchen. He shoved up my dress and pushed my panties to the side, dragging his finger down my wet slit. And then he buried himself inside me, claiming me on the counter of our new home.

I winced when Willow kicked.

Cole thrust harder, not realizing my eyes snapped shut from the baby and not his big cock. But then his eyes lowered, his pace slowing as he moved his hand in a circle.
