He chuckles. “That’s because your place is way nicer than mine, but if you want to go see where I live, I have no problem with it. That’s the difference here. This guy clearly doesn’t want you seeing his place. Chances are, he has something to hide.”
Gina asks, “What do you think it is?”
Tanner shrugs his shoulders. “I’m not sure, but if I had to guess, I’d say he’s got another woman. I hate to be the one to say this, but it sounds like you’re the side chick.”
She takes a sip of her beer. “That’s what I was afraid of.”
“Sorry, Gina,” I say.
“Eh, it’s alright. I wasn’t in love or anything. He was just a good lay. Guess all the good ones are taken.” She smiles at Tanner and I.
“Damn straight,” I say. “And I’m not giving this one up.”
We talk a bit more before Tanner asks if I want to dance. I suck at dancing, but I’m anxious for a moment alone with him.
He leads me to the dancefloor, and I warn, “Just letting you know that I’m not very good at this.”
He puts his hands on my hips, and says, “Just follow my lead. Sway with the music.”
Country music blares through the speakers, and I let Tanner control my movements. My hands link around his neck as we dance to the beat. He’s so sexy, and I can feel a ton of eyes on us. I’m sure it’s a bunch of women all wondering what a guy like him is doing with a woman like me.
He doesn’t notice a single one of them, though. All he sees is me. And the way he looks at me makes me feel like I’m the most gorgeous woman in the world.
I lean up to kiss him. Taking a little bit of control, I slip my tongue in his mouth as we make out for a couple minutes.
When I pull back, he growls, “If you keep doing that, I’m taking you in the bathroom and fucking you.”
Wanting to drive him even more crazy, I ask, “What if I do this?” I turn my body around and grind my ass against him.
“Erin,” he warns.
“Hmm?” I ask, trying to act innocent.
“Alright, as much fun as this has been, I think it’s about time I take you home and show you a good time.”
Don’t have to ask me twice.
I grab his hand and begin to lead him out of the bar. We stop by to tell Nancy and Gina that we are heading out before making our way to the door. The second we are outside, Tanner pushes me up against the brick wall of the building, pinning my arms above my head and kissing me.
It’s so hot, but I want more. Ineedmore.
Just when I about to break the kiss and tell him get me home as quickly as possible, I hear something that makes my stomach turn.
“Erin, what the hell do you think you’re doing?”
Judd.
Hear that? It’s the other shoe dropping.

WhenErin’sex-husbandcallsher name, her entire demeanor changes. The woman who was just so confidant and sure of herself suddenly disappears into her shell.
“Judd?” She asks. “What are you doing here?”
“I think the better question is what areyoudoing here? Where the fuck are my children?”
