“Fuck,” Hex snapped. “I see the transfers came from a Caymans bank account. It’ll take me a while to trace them, and I’ll check phone records, too. And Addie, I’m sending CCTV from Pam’s apartment building to your computer. See if she meets with anybody that you recognize.”

Addie nodded, feeling slightly confused and overwhelmed. “I’m not special. Why would someone come after me like this?”

“You’re beautiful, sweet, and kind,” Hex said. “That’s pretty special.”

Devyn nodded. “Sweet and kind are rare commodities.”

Addie touched her computer screen. Images began to pop up. One showed Pam coming out of her apartment. She flicked through more. Pam with a fancy handbag. Pam lugging grocery bags. Pam stopping on the street and talking to a tall man right outside her front door. The man had his back to the camera.

Addie frowned. The way he moved…

Then he turned, and she gasped.

“Addie?” Devyn leaned forward. “What is it?”

“I recognize this man.” A cold shiver made her feel like her skin had been coated in ice. She’d never forget the man’s frosty, intense gaze.

“He was a Russian guard at Mikhailov’s estate in the Napa Valley. He was the guard on my room.”

“He matches the size and height of the attacker from your apartment,” Hex said.

“Bingo,” Devyn said.

Bram strode into the office, his blood boiling.

Several images up on the big, interactive screen showed a tall, tough-faced motherfucker.

The man had flat cheeks, a crooked nose that had been broken a few times, and a heavy jaw. Bram glared at the man’s dark-brown eyes.

Yep, this was him. The man who thought he could take Addie. Scare her. Hurt her.

“Who is he?” Bram barked.

Hex spun. “Cool it down, Excalibur.”

“No.”

Addie stood off to the side, her arms wrapped around her middle, her face pale.

He instantly went to her. As soon as he opened his arms, she came to him and pressed her face to his chest.

“You recognize him?” Bram asked.

She nodded. “He was a guard at Mikhailov’s estate. He never said anything to me, but he was…creepy. He stared. A lot.”

And it had been enough to ignite an obsession.

“Hex, what have we got?” Killian strode in with Devyn and Nick.

“His name is Ilya Kozlov,” Hex said. “Russian, was employed by Mikhailov.”

“Why isn’t he in jail, after his boss went down?” Bram asked.

“He gave evidence and took a deal.” Hex pulled a face. “Then he disappeared.”

“And became obsessed with Addie, and followed her here to New York,” Bram said.
