But I’ve thought about her plenty since then. Hers is the only face I see, no matter who’s under me.

“You’re not the same girl.” I ball the sides of her robe in my fists. The front falls open, revealing perfect tits. I run a hand over her smooth, creamy skin, my fingers creeping upward. Sparks ignite under the pads, sizzling my skin with every forbidden touch.

“You were so angry. I practically threw myself at you, and you took me up to your room.”

I knead her breasts, massaging the soft flesh. Soft mewls slip from her lips. “That girl was blonde.”

She nods quickly, her eyes dropping to my hand as it moves threateningly close to her neck. “I changed my hair. And I wear color contacts now.”

Ripples of anger command my every cell. I slide my hands around her back, dragging my fingers down the slope of her spine. She stiffens in my grip, bucking her hips toward me. Her hair tickles the tops of my fingers. The head of my cock tingles. I grab a fistful of her hair. “Did you know I’d be there that night?”

The thought never occurred to me that at the same time someone was planning Olek’s death, he might have been planning an ambush of his own, using his own daughter as a pawn.

“Did your family send you to the Fairmont to find me? What the fuck did Olek tell you?”

“I didn’t know anything about a meeting.” She gasps when I tug her hair harder. “I got some bad news that afternoon and wanted to get away for a drink. That’s why I ended up there. I had no idea who you were.”

“You’re full of shit. He told you to find me, didn’t he? He wanted something and told you to get it from me.”

“Jesus, you are so fucking paranoid. I said I didn’t know. It wasn’t a setup. And the next morning, my brother called me when I was leaving the hotel. He told me my father had been killed the night before.” Her eyes darken like a storm cloud consuming a calm, blue sky. “I never got to see him the night before. I never got to say goodbye.”

“Yeah, well, life sucks sometimes, doesn’t it?” I snap, bringing my hand to the front of her neck.

“Look, I know they think you killed my dad, but it wasn’t you. It couldn’t have been you.” She wrestles my hand away from her. “So let me fucking go.”

“Why? You expect me to believe you’re just gonna tell them they fingered the wrong guy? After they killed my mother? After they destroyed us?” I bellow, slapping away her hand and shoving her backward onto the bed. “You think that’s gonna make it all better? Hell, no, sweetheart. Their debt is too damn steep, and there’s only one way to pay it off…with your fucking life.”

I tear at both sides of my hair, storm over to the nightstand and swing out my arm. The crystal lamp flies off the top and crashes against the wall. Tiny glass shards scatter along the floor, glittering like diamonds under the light.

Twisting back toward her, I clench my fists. “I came here to take back what your family stole from me. Control. And there’s only one way I can get it.” My shoulders square, ragged breaths shuddering my chest. “I don’t give a damn about what happened between us. If you think a one-night stand is gonna make me forget my plans, you’re wrong. No pussy on Earth has that kind of power over me.”

I reach into my back pocket and pull out the knife. My pulse jumps into my throat, thrashing around like a pinball.

Her eyes widen. She slithers over the mattress, putting as much space between us as she can.

“You can’t stop me.”

“I can protect you from my brothers.” She tumbles over the side of the bed. Her head darts left and right, but she’s cornered like a rat without a weapon or a prayer. I move toward her, backing her tighter against the far wall with every step I take.

“Fuck your brothers. Who’s gonna protect you fromme?”

A sharp and sudden squeal blares out, stunning me still. I look around, my brow furrowed. “What was that?”

Her jaw drops, eyes pop open wide like she just realized she’s staring into the eyes of the Devil himself.

“Your daughter.”

Chapter8

Larysa

Danil’s jaw twitches, and he blinks hard, almost as if he’s trying to reset the past few seconds.

But he can’t.

One incredibly hot night and nine months of physical agony brought me here and damn him if he thinks that he can just blink it all away.

“I’m supposed to believe that whatever made that sound belongs to me just because we fucked one time?” He moves closer, nostrils flaring.
