Good guess, Captain Obvious.

Ash

*Cringing* I should have told you that I hate this expression (long story).

Nino

Good guess, Sherlock ;) No need to divulge all of your secrets just yet.

Ash

You’re funny! Thanks for taking it back, my friend.

Why does his last word sting so badly? Our friendship is what brought me here in the first place.

Liar!

As eager as I am to put my attraction to Ash to the test, we never fully discussed our sex life, apart from when he confessed what he and Alex shared, that is. Let’s face it, chickstalkabout sex or their sex life, whereas guys prefer tohavesex whenever the occasion presents itself. Ash made it sound like it’s a bit more complicated than that.

Rebound or whatever our friendship turns out to be, I have to figure out what I might be getting myself into.

Because it’s obvious that his boyfriend’s an ex, isn’t it?

Ash once called his kinks “deviant.” I don’t buy that for a second. Still, better safe than sorry, right? As of late, my browsing history is quite colorful to say the least! Fathoming what makes Ash tick is vital. We asked each other plenty of questions, but the ultimate one is: Am I up for the challenge? Hence, the exploration process. To understand what this type of relationship means. To understand what he might expect from me. To understand what I am ready to partake in, in case things progress in that direction between us.

There are some weird kinks out there, trust me! To each their own, as long as it makes you happy…

Will this make me happy, though?

I don’t have the right mindset for something heavy like staging a BDSM scene. Thankfully, from what I’ve learned so far, Dom/sub relationships are not ubiquitous. This came as a relief. Ash’s words about the appeal for the Red Room of Pain come to mind: “Minus the Red Room.”

Pain to pleasure him…

That’s intense and not what I’m used to, but I’m willing to hear him out. I wouldn’t have packed my bags if I weren’t interested in what he has to offer and how we can make it work for a while. Yeah, commitment isn’t my jam; quick, easy, and fun ways to get off are.

Can we find common ground?

I’m here to explore the lingering possibilities of the insane connection that resulted from our kiss that wasn’t a kiss. Yet, my greatest fear is forfeiting my friendship with him over what such a partnership might involve.

And here I thought that identifying a guy’s orientation was my only challenge… Well, that and if said guy was a bottom. At least, I know where Ash stands… or do I?

It takes a couple of deep breaths for me to gather my thoughts and reply.

Nino

No problem. We aim to please ;)

Ash

YOU aim to please! Seriously? How’s your inner goddess doing these days?

Nino

Huh?

Needing to disperse the fog in my brain, I leap from the bed and make myself a cup of java.

Thank God this hotel knows its coffee!
