Page 110 of Fear the Reapers

Ana was livid with Alexei, but she became even more livid when she realized why he’d been completely out of contact after dumping Dimitri in our laps. She was making an effort to get to know her baby brother. Dimitri was trying his damnedest to get her to stop referring to him as her baby brother.

It was a work in progress.

Larkin had gone completely off the map, and none of us were sure if we’d ever hear from him again. He still had the offer to join the Reapers. I doubted he would take us up on it though because our chapter was too close to his home, in all aspects.

In the days following what had happened at the Crows’ compound, news outlets from across the country had picked up the story, and it was discussed on almost every channel.

Stories ranged from a hostile patch over to some deranged lunatic getting revenge for the death of a family member. Considering everything that had gone down, the speculation was almost spot on. The Reapers were the only ones who knew the truth of what had gone down at the clubhouse, apart from the people who had been spared.

After the Crows had finally come to an agreement, I wasn't sure what the landscape of their organization would be like in the future. I was determined to limit the Reapers' involvement as much as possible. If their business dealings didn’t interfere with ours, we could just ignore them and move forward. None of us wanted to consider the possibility of a new group arriving and stirring up trouble.

With the memory of past biker wars still fresh in the minds of many, no one wanted to see another biker war occur.

Dimitri and Hunter bantered back and forth like old friends. Once they got over the initial jealousy and decided to share me, they became thick as thieves. They went on jobs without me and everything seemed to run smoothly. I for one, couldn’t handle any more testosterone laced feuds between any of them.

I didn’t have the patience to deal with any more overgrown children.

Brax was looking just as good as he did when we first met. Dressed in jeans and a dark-coloured shirt, he looked just like the rest of the guys in here, and after tonight he would belong even more. All the new patched in members would be getting a cut of their own.

He caught me mid-inspection. “What was that look for?” he asked me.

“Just thinking,” I responded.

“She’s wondering if she can fit all three of us inside her tonight,” Dimitri interrupted. Hunter choked on his beer. “You okay there, brother?” Dimitri asked as he smacked him hard on the back.

“Fuck off,” he sputtered in between coughs.

“We’ll see what happens after close,” I told them.

“Why not go now?”

“‘Cause everyone will notice,” Hunter responded.

“What’s the big deal about that?” Dimitri asked.

“Baby steps,” Brax replied.

“No one said anything about babies,” Dimitri replied.

“No one is going to say anything about babies,” I scolded him.

“She’ll hand you your balls the second she hears you think she should look after babies just because she’s a woman.”

If, and that was a big if, I ever had children, it would be at least five to ten years down the road. I had to finish school first. Hell, who knew what the expiry date was on whatever we had going on. Then there was the question of who would be the father. Did they even want to have children?

Why the fuck was I thinking about this right now?

“You’re thinking about it right now aren’t you?” Hunter asked.

“What? No!” I quickly denied it.

“She was,” Dimitri told him. “Kisais a naughty little kitten.”

“Is he right, Angel?” Brax asked.

My cast iron will was bending under the weight of their gaze. I glanced around the room to make sure no one was within hearing distance. “We are not having this discussion here.”

“So there’s a discussion to be had?” Hunter asked. “‘Cause a couple weeks ago you were not too into the topic.”
