The first time I had sex with his sister, she was seventeen.

When I saw her, I didn't know who she was, though I should have realized she was too young to be in that biker bar. I had seen her there before, and the men at the entrance were very strict about enforcing their 'no underaged girls' rule. Something about too many run-ins with the local law enforcement.

So I didn’t think I had anything to worry about.

I had seen her in there four times before I finally plucked up the courage to go and talk to her. She was at the bar, exuding an aura of danger and seduction. By that time, I’d already been undercover for quite a few years. The typical length of an undercover assignment was six years, but they extended mine because of the intel I had acquired. Snatched right out of the academy when I was nineteen.

Before anyone could learn who I was.

From each graduating year, they took one lucky (or unlucky) candidate and put them deep undercover. A fresh face to assist with the growing problem with organized crime. I’d made the decision to go undercover because I didn’t have any connections I needed to worry about at the time. My mom was diagnosed with cancer during my last year of high school and she died just before I graduated.

“If she didn’t want me, she would have killed me herself.”

She didn’t even tell me she was a virgin, but it became all too apparent when I took her up against one of the bathroom stalls. It was impulsive, but fucking hot. Maybe I should have stayed away from her after that, but each and every time we were in the same room, we were drawn to each other like magnets.

“You’re right, she would have,” he agreed.

Our arrangement continued until I’d got enough intel for the higher ups to make a move on the President of the Chaos Crows. When they pulled me, I had to cut off all ties, including her. Never once did I think I’d miss her because I didn’t get attached. Then I realized she was the only thing I looked forward to when I was on a run for the club.

She was like a drug.

That I’d stopped using abruptly.

Only there was no methadone to replace the high I got with her.

“What do you want from me to make this work? I’ll quit today if that’s what’s needed.”

“This is not the time to quit. We still need to figure out who’s dirty on the force, besides those I have in my pockets.”

“You still think someone else is on the take?”

“Yes.”

“I’ll do whatever you need.”

“The next thing you’re going to do is give up living in your house and move into the clubhouse with us where I we can keep a better eye on you.”

“Done,” I agreed.

“Not in her room,” he told me with his hand wrapped around the beer and a finger pointed in my direction. He regarded me with stern eyes as he took a swig out of the bottle and set it back down on the table.

“Obviously.”

“You’ll be down the hall across from Dimitri in the rooms designated for the prospects. Neither of you has proven yourselves yet, so you don’t deserve one of the suites. You can share the bathroom and showers with all the other assholes in the building.”

“Fair enough.”

“There will be a test of loyalty.”

“As long as all those involved aren’t innocent, law-abiding citizens.”

“You should have learned by now that we only go after those who deserve what’s coming to them.”

“That’s all that I ask.”

“Right. Then you can move in tonight. I’ll have Hunter show you your room.”

I groaned.
