"Thank goodness we came to the kitchen instead of the living room," Marcello muttered.

His response elicited a snort from me and an eye roll from Tony.

I turned to Tony when I noticed he was uncharacteristically quiet and saw him staring at the table.

"Tony?Qual è il problema?"I watched Tony pull his eyebrows in a frown.

"What Aryana did was too risky. It was careless." He stated.

I sighed. I agreed with him.

"She's too stubborn and strong-headed." I took another gulp of my drink.

"You need to talk to her. What she did was not right and was too impulsive.È stato sciocco."

I nodded because he was right. I had meant to do so, but one thing had led to another, and we had ended up giving in to our desire. By Tony's look, he was probably thinking the same thing.

"You've changed." He stated.

Marcello continued drinking the wine, looking back and forth between myself and Tony. I eyed my second in command and snorted. I also felt that I had changed, but I didn't feel like it was a good thing. I was losing control of my feelings and couldn't think properly about Aryana. Normally, I would have reprimanded Aryana for the stunt she had pulled. Still, instead, we aggressively flirted with each other before it became physical.

"I did not say it was a bad thing.Calmati." Tony probably guessed what I was thinking from my body posture. He had always been good at that.

"Seeing you open up to someone outside your father and us is nice." Marcello piped up.

"I cannot advise you on what you do not understand. I will say that you should remember that Aryana doesn't come from our world. If anything blossoms between you two, you must be patient." Tony spoke, ever the rational thinker.

"There is no way you'll ever find out about her feelings towards you unless you ask her directly," Marcello added, sounding serious.

It was odd to see Marcello, who was usually frivolous and full of cheeky smiles, looking so serious.

Hearing what they had to say, even though they hadn't told me what to do and instead advised me, made my shoulders feel several times lighter.

Despite my solitude, I couldn't do without my two comrades. They made my life easier. However, the lucky ones were those who got true friendships in life. It was not the same as ordinary friendship. True friendship was when they stayed with you through thick and thin. My friendship with them was honestly the finest balm. It was the comfort provided for every low moment, a very sad feeling.

"Come on," Tony said to Marcello.

I checked the time and saw it had gotten quite late. After dropping our glasses in the sink, I escorted Tony and Marcello to the door. When we reached the door, I remembered them talking about how they would have come earlier if they hadn't been occupied. Though I couldn't partake in the war, I still wished to hear the latest updates.

"How have we been faring against the Saconne?" I asked at the door.

I saw the two exchange looks, and I immediately knew something was wrong, but I waited for them to answer my question first.

"The playing field is still leveled though there have been some close cases," Tony responded.

"And what about the possible traitor?" My eyes squinted when I saw their reaction. What was going on?

"We've found him." Marcello slowly said.

I looked at both of them. Wasn't that great news, then? Then why did they look at me with some dread?

"Then what's the problem? That's a good thing." I was confused. I could see that something was wrong, and with the way they hesitated, it was obvious that they didn't want to tell me.

I was quite annoyed and didn't have the patience to deal with this suspense. Talking about my feelings was emotionally draining; all I wanted to do was sleep the night away. I had no energy for this guessing game.

"Tony!" I demanded. "Tell me what happened!"

Tony sighed as if admitting that telling me would be inevitable. My anxiety rose the longer they didn't tell me what was wrong.
