“Thanks, Mom,” Rick murmured.

“It’s nice to meet you, too,” I enthused, truthfully.“Rick has your smile.”

She grinned, and yeah, they had the same crooked little tilt to the left.“I gave him his good looks, too, don’t you know.”

Toby chose that moment to say, “No, no, no, Gamma.”We all laughed at the timing.

“That’s right, little man,” Rick said, reaching for his nephew.“I got these looks all by myself.Though the body is courtesy of Uncle Sam.”

I couldn’t wait to see his body properly.Spend as long as I wanted mapping out every inch with my fingers and mouth.Trail my tongue along the serpent tattoo under his ribs.

Tonight.

The rest of the wedding passed in a happy blur.

As other people started to join the happy couple on the dance floor once they cut the cake, I felt Rick move behind me, his hand settling on my hip.

“You wanna get out of here?”he whispered next to my ear.

“You just want an excuse not to dance.”

He chuckled.“Guilty as charged, but the kind ofdancingI wanna do isn’t something that should be done in public. So, what do ya say?”

I shivered.“Yes, yes, I do very much want to get out of here.”

We said our goodbyes.I gave Toby a high five, and it was the cutest thing ever, especially his confused face when I tapped his open palm with mine.

“Go get him, tiger,” Jenny snickered in a whisper.

I knew she and Toby were staying at her parents’ house tonight.Rick and I would bealone.

Cathy gave me permission to use the cake pictures wherever I wanted when we said goodbye to her.“I’ll try to make sure you get a piece wrapped up!”she promised.

Rick had stuck with water after his initial glass of champagne, so he drove us back.Through the truck’s open window, the oranges and golds of sunset kissed his profile. He wasgorgeous, and I was head over heels.

“You sure ‘bout this?”Rick asked as he pulled up outside the front of the house.“We can go to bed separately. There’s no pressure here.”

I smoothed my palm over his thigh.“I want to, Rick.Actually, what I really want is to get into bed with you tonight, and stay there until I have to fly home.”

His gaze went hot as he looked at me, and then he pulled me into a deep, searing kiss.I tilted my head and opened for him, and he ravished my mouth.I lost myself in the constant wave of desire that never seemed to be quelled. Not when he was near.

“Well, let’s see what we can do about that,” he murmured when we parted.“We’ve got all Sunday, don’t we?”

I pressed my legs together.God.He’d be lucky if I let him get into the house before I tore the tux off him.

He got out of the driver’s side door and came to open the passenger side.

It was only when I got out and turned towards the path to Rick’s house, that I saw Sebastian sitting on Jess’ porch.

ChapterTwenty-Six

He looked tired. He probably was.Even without the delay, my journey here had beenverylong.

“Is that him?”Rick asked. His hand settled at the small of my back, comforting. The light touch told me he wouldn’t do anything without my say so.

“Yes.It’s him.”

Rick had a little sound in his throat, a half murmur, half growl.
