Oh. Right.Ten-motherfreaking-fold.

Squaring her shoulders, she cut a snarky glance at Dylan. “Maybe if you stop hogging all the good ones I will.”

“Ha!” Dylan crowed. “Your little bird has some claws, MacCallum.”

“Yup,” Luke said proudly.

Chuckling, Dylan pulled ahead of them, his long arms cutting through the water so much more efficiently than Andy’s.

Being the highly competitive person she was — and also in a testy sort of mood — she increased the pace of her strokes to catch up.

As did Luke.

Looking his way, Andy blinked oh-so-innocently. “Your little bird has some teeth, too, doesn’t she, MacCallum?”

Luke’s strokes faltered, eyes darkening as they locked with hers. And there was that warning look again. One that said, “You are being a very bad little bird right now.”

Andy rather liked being a bad little bird.

Raising both hands to the surface of the water, she sent as much of the sea as she could directly into the faces of the men flanking her.

Then she hauled ass.

“Oh, it’s on now,” Luke sputtered behind her.

“Paddle battle!”Dylan cried.

The two tore after her, and Andy had to fight to keep it together as they raced to the lineup. Once again, she had the feeling of a shark chasing after her. Two of them. But it was only Luke she was really worried about.

Because it washimshe wouldn’t have minded being bitten by.

Andy’s strokes grew sloppy. The guys quickly overtook her. Immediately, her gaze shifted to a very nice set of buns filling out some charcoal swim trunks.

Damn it, Andy! Focus! Eyes on the prize.

Not far ahead of them, she spotted Kyle sitting with his friends in the flotilla of surfers. He straddled his board, all broad-chested and smiley, looking like the king of the ocean with the sun at his back.

He was the one she was doing all of this for. He was the one she’d had her sights set on for months. But as she paddled hard in his direction, she could feel herself losing steam. In more ways than one.

As the three of them pulled up to the lineup, huffing and puffing — okay, it was mostly her who was huffing and puffing — Kyle chuckled. “Got any juice left for the swells, sweetheart?”

“Damn straight, she does!”

Was it her imagination or did Luke tag the man’s hand with a bit more force than usual?

Nonplussed by his friend’s antics, Kyle winked at her. “My bad, I forgot you were training for the Olympics. You got this.”

Andy rose up on her board, chest heaving, heart pounding. The latter for all manner of reasons, not the least of which was being surrounded by three gorgeous dudes who all seemed to enjoy teasing her.

Whatever. She could handle them.

“You know,” she said, smoothing the wet locks from her face as she got her breathing under control, “I’m not actually training for the Olympics.”

“You don’t say.”

“I do.” Gripping her board between her thighs, Andy swiveled her hips to point the nose towards the breaking waves. “Wanna know something else?”

“What’s that, sweetheart?”
