“Oh. Right.” Andy snorted. “Let me guess, you have a stripper pole hiding somewhere too.”

Kyle motioned to Eddie, twirling his index finger in the air. Eddie pressed some more buttons on his rig. A hole opened up in the platform's floor, and a shiny burgundy pole rose out of it.

“Holy shit, you do!”

“Yup,” Kyle said proudly. “And I know how to use it.”

“Really?” she gasped.

“Luke does too.”

“No freaking way.”

“Only if he’s really buzzed though, and that’s not too often because he’s not much of a drinker.”

“Yeah, me neither.” Andy knocked back a healthy swig of her champagne. The fizz burned her throat, and her eyes watered as she glanced towards the club seating along the west wall. Rows of black circular tables and matching leather chairs lined the dance floor. Beyond those in the corner, Andy spotted another red door.

Following her gaze, Kyle pointed up. “VIP section.”

Andy peered towards a balcony that wrapped around all four walls, overlooking the dance floor. Visible through its wrought-iron bars were a series of booths.

Kyle grinned. “Let me show you to our table.” He led her through the door, up the stairs, and to the balcony seating. “The staff nicknamed these the Cherry Pits shortly after we opened.”

They stopped at one of the booths along the east wall. Up close, Andy could see why the name had stuck as the circular booth had high walls and a dark, glossy red finish. They entered it, and her gaze fell to a thick-topped table with rolled edges. It did vaguely resemble a cherry pit with its light mahogany finish and rounded-oval shape.

Kyle treated her to another boyish grin. “This is my favorite part.” Setting his champagne on the table, he pushed a button along the edge of it. The tabletop slowly began to rotate.

“Wow,” Andy said. “It’s like the whole thing is a Lazy Susan. That must come in handy for sharing food and stuff.”

Kyle appeared amused by this as he patted the tabletop. “Wanna take a spin?”

Heck, yeah! Andy had always loved rides at amusement parks. Setting her drink next to his, she hopped up. Kyle hit the button again, and the table turned once more.

Andy smiled. This was fun. Nightclubs weren’t so bad. Especially ones as high-tech as this.

Kyle hit another button, and the table suddenly lifted a few inches, startling a giggle from her. “No way!” she cried. “Does it disappear into the floor like the stripper pole too?”

“Nah. But adjusting the height does come in handy on occasion.” Something about the man’s sly smirk had Andy hopping down and brushing at the back of her skirt. Kyle chuckled. “Relax, Andy. We keep things very clean up here, I assure you.”

“Right,” Andy said dryly, her mind already whirring with some very unclean thoughts. Side-eying the open front of the booth, which was somewhat visible to the dance floor and certainly visible to the open pits spanning the west balcony, she frowned.

Did people really enjoy messing around up here with such little privacy? Andy couldn’t imagine doing the types of things she’d done with Luke where everyone could see.

Granted, she never would have thought she’d masturbate in front of the man, and yet she hadn’t hesitated on that score.

As though sensing the direction of her thoughts, Kyle hit another button, this one near the front of the booth. A curved door whooshed out of the frame, closing them inside. Mood lights lit up around the booth's rim and under the deep, molded leather bench surrounding the table.

Andy aimed a narrow-eyed glance at her host for the evening. “This is a sex booth, isn’t it?”

“I prefer to think of it as the private dining experience.”

“Do you actually serve dinner?”

“No, but our small bites are top-notch.” Kyle handed her an elegantly printed menu card, another devilish smile lurking.

The special was oysters. Andy screwed up her face before she could stop herself. There was truly nothing she could think of less appetizing than oysters. Well, maybe snails.

“I’ll pass.”
