“I love video games.”

Andy bit her lip to hide another grin, then slivered her eyes. “Console or PC?”

“Pshhh…” Luke rolled his eyes. “What am I? Twelve? PC, of course.”

Her tiny grin blossomed into a full-on smile. “Cool. Then do you, uh, maybe want to join me and my friends tonight? We’re playingBloodmoon’s Child, and I have an extra gaming laptop.”

“Let me get this straight,” Luke drawled. “You passed on the opportunity to see me and my boy rocking booze-soaked T-shirts for a night of online gaming?”

Andy nodded enthusiastically.

Luke tipped his chin. “I can respect that. Where should I park?”

Stepping into Andy’s apartment, Luke was hit with a number of things all at once.

First, was the chirping.

“Itty bir, Annie! Itty bir!”

Luke turned to his right, and — spotting the source of the warbled greeting — an immediate bubble of laughter rose in his throat.

Before he could free it, Luke’s attention swung the other way to the show blaring from the TV in the living room. A show that featured a couple chicks going at it in a hot tub. Both were topless, but that wasn’t what had arrested his attention. No, it was that one of the women simulating jacuzzi sex on the screen, he’d had actual sex with on his balcony a month ago.

Also, there was the fact that a third chick — one who looked strung out in a way that would probably earn her an Emmy as opposed to a night spent in lockup like Dylan’s mom — was creeping on the couple with a gun clutched in shaking hands.

“Hey, Andy!” This greeting came from a dark-haired girl curled up on the couch. She waved but didn’t turn away from the drama unfolding on the screen. “There’s leftover Pizza Rolls on the stove. Made the whole bag because I’m depressed.”

“I’m not sure watching that will help,” Andy said as she moved to free the chattering bird.

“Oh god, I know. But it’s like a trainwreck I can’t look away from. Rain and Vera finally hooked up, but Heather’s hella pissed at Vera for beating the shit out of Heather’s brother with a baseball bat last episode so this is probably not gonna end well.”

After rattling off the play-by-play, the woman turned to them, and Luke was struck with the realization that he knew this chick too. “Milkshake Girl?”

Dark green eyes widened to see him standing there. “Mary's hunky brother Luke?”

He winked.

She giggled. Then blushed as the action on the screen heated up. Pausing the show, she turned back to him with a wry smile. “It’s Kory.”

“Yeah, I caught your tag at the diner.”

So had Dylan. The man would be pretty interested to learn Andy’s roommate was the same girl he’d been low-key crushing on for a while.

Dylan didn’t date much, nor did he fuck around as often as Luke and Kyle did, so when he showed an interest in someone, they both took note.

“Nice to meet you,” Luke said with a little salute.

“You too.” Kory’s gaze bounced between him and Andy before returning to the TV. “I can finish this later.”

“You don’t have to,” Andy said. “Luke and I were just going to play a game in my bedroom.” Dropping a kiss on the cockatiel perched on her finger, Andy didn’t seem to realize the suggestiveness of her words.

But Kory clearly did. Rosy lips tilted up slyly for a moment before falling with a wistful sigh. “Okay, well you two have fun—”

No sooner had the words left her than the doorbell rang. Kory glanced at Andy. Both women appeared stumped as to who could be swinging by at ten o’clock on a Friday night.

Luke took the initiative and answered the door.

A flannel-wearing dude was standing on the porch. Duffel bag in one hand, roses in the other, a grin lifting his shaved cheeks.
