Alessia burrowed deeper into my side as we watched Arianne and Matteo help Nora out of the booth. “We’ll meet you there,” she said, glancing up at me.
I nodded like the pussy-whipped fool I already was. But I’d follow her anywhere. Pretty sure there wasn’t a single thing I wouldn’t do for her.
Because Alessia Marchetti owned me.

Three hours later, we were all sitting in the hospital, waiting for an update on Nora’s delivery.
Nicco had tried to persuade Tristan to take me home, but I wanted to be here. Nora was my friend too; more than that, she was family.
Besides, much to his disapproval, I was done letting Nicco dictate my life.
“I can’t believe she’s giving birth right now,” Caitlin said.
“What do you think, Tink?” Matteo hooked his arm around her neck and drew her close. “Ready to make some babies with me?”
“Babies, plural?” She arched a brow. “Because I’m pretty sure you would freak the hell out if we ever had twins. Besides—”
The door swung open and Enzo burst into the corridor, tears streaming down his face. “It’s a girl.”
In all my years of knowing him, I don’t think I’d ever seen Lorenzo Marchetti cry.
“Fuck, she’s perfect. So tiny but so fucking perfect.”
“Congratulations, cous.” Tristan pulled him in for a hug. Nicco too. Then I went and Caitlin and Arianne.
“Get back in there, Daddy.” Arianne sniffled. “We’ll visit when you’re all settled. Give Nora and the baby a big kiss from all of us.”
He nodded, then ran a hand down his face, completely awestruck, and slipped back into the room.
“I can’t believe he’s a father,” Tristan murmured.
“That little girl is going to have him wrapped around her finger.”
We all moved back to our seats, and Tristan pulled me into his side. “One day, Principessa. One day that will be you and me.” He hugged me tighter, and I gazed up at him.
“I think I’d like that,” I whispered.
I think I’d like that a lot.
