Logan followed his brother’s eyes.
“Jesus, Aides. I’m telling you I have disaster on my hands, and you’re checking out women.”
Then Aidan winked at her.
Logan waved at the barman, and his whisky was topped up.
The blonde almost snarled at his brother in response, and Logan felt his night improve.
“Looks like she’s not interested.” Logan half smirked.
“Fuck you, and she’llbeinterested,” Aidan said. “Now, go the hell home and apologize to Emma for whatever you said. Do you even know her cycle?”
“No.”
“Is she on the pill?”
“Yes, but the crash...”
“So, it’s highly unlikely.” Aidan followed the blonde with his eyes as she walked to the bathroom.
“Focus,” Logan said, knocking his knee against Aidan’s.
“Emma isn’t Zoe. Zoe is a cunt,” Aidan said, and Logan choked on his drink.
“Unfair.”
“Fair? You know she is,” Aidan argued. “Now go home. You’re cramping my style.”
Next thing Logan knew, Aidan was up off the stool, dropping some big notes on the bar as if Logan couldn’t pay himself, and making his way over to the table of women the blonde had been sitting with.
Logan was tempted to watch his brother be rejected by the woman when she returned from the restroom.
At least it would be a distraction from the apology he had to make when he got home.

EMMA SHUT THE BEDROOMdoor, wanting some privacy. Or perhaps putting a much-needed barrier between them so no more hurtful words could be said.
She rinsed herself off in the shower, then climbed into bed, brushing away the tears that kept slipping out.
“Stupid dumb man,” she muttered, swiping her phone until her finger hovered over Harper’s name.
It was late, but she was so confused and needed to stop from spiraling. Since the crash, Emma had found her tolerance for stress was not as good as normal.
Understandably.
She needed to talk to someone. Who better than someone who was married to a stubborn Dufort man?
