Emma was staring at him with tears in her eyes.

“Sweetheart, what’s wrong?”

The tears fell, and she bashed them away with her arm.

“Jesus, Em.” Logan pulled her into his arms and felt her sob against his chest. “Talk to me.”

It took a few tries, but eventually, she pulled back. “I’m sorry. I’m overemotional.”

“Tell me.”

“I thought. God.” She sniffed. “I thought I was going to make you lose your job. That you’d hate me.”

Oh, Jesus.

Logan shook his head and saw what a fool he’d been. He should have come to her first.

He’d left her up here for hours. Hungry. Worried. Hurting.

“Em, sweetheart. No. Fuck no.” Logan gave her a crooked smile. “Ye of little faith. I’m much tougher than that. No little psychopath is taking my company.”

She tried to smile, but it was wonky.

“Or my girl. I never want to hear you say you are leaving again,” Logan said more firmly.

Emma’s lips parted.

His thumb ran across the bottom lip.

“Mine. All fucking mine.” His eyes took in every beautiful inch of her.

Then they met her green globes, and he smiled.

“I mean it. I love you, Emma. The past twenty-four hours have shown me just how much. I mean, Jesus, it’s like the universe is trying to shove it in my face.”

She swallowed. Big eyes reacting to his words, almost confused.

“First the crash. Then my own stupid ignorance pushing you away. Zoe. And then Doug and this fucking coup,” Logan said.

Emma moved the rest of the distance and climbed onto his lap. He tugged her against him.

“Logan, I love you.”

“Then marry me,” he said. “I’m done being scared. I’m done worrying you’ll leave me or that something will come between us.”

Emma gasped. “Are you insane?”

“Insanely in love with you.” Logan pressed his lips to hers. “Say yes. Move in with me. Be my wife.”

“Oh my God.”

“And write all your sexy, dirty romances in your office, then we can play them out to sound check them.” He smirked.

Emma giggled, and he felt his chest erupt into a million different butterflies.

“Will you answer me, woman?” he said, smiling.

“Yes, Logan Dufort, I will marry you.”
