Oh shit.

“Emma,” Logan asked. “Did you message Harper last night?”

She bit her lip. “Ummm.”

They both bolted and flew down the stairs. When Logan pulled open the door, Daniel was standing on the doorstep with his arms crossed.

“Next time, answer your goddamn phone, cousin,” he growled as Harper ran through the flower bed and stopped abruptly behind her husband.

Oh my God.

“What are you doing?” Emma cried.

“I was going to climb in a window,” Harper said, puffing and grabbing Daniel’s arm to steady herself.

He slowly shook his head.

“You never replied. I was worried.”

“So, you flew here?” Emma asked, still in shock.

She had messaged Harper when she climbed into bed, then sat waiting for hours for Logan to return. Emma hadn’t known what the hell was going on, so her mind was whirling.

The texts between her and Harper had been brief.

Zoe’s here.

OMG why?

It’s something to do with her ex and Logan’s board. That rogue guy knows about me.

Oh crap.

Yeah, the taboo, exotic romance author. So over it. I’ve asked Logan to take me home, but he looked mad.

Her phone battery had flashed a warning, so Emma had plugged it in and then got distracted with a Netflix show and her whirling mind. She could only imagine how many silent messages Harper had sent before demanding her husband fly her to Philadelphia.

Wow!

Logan glanced down at her, and Emma grinned back awkwardly. “Sorry, I thought you were going to boot me out.”

“Seriously? Wow. And what did I do instead?” Logan wrapped an arm around her and glanced at Harper.

Emma grinned. “He asked me to marry him!”

“I knew it!” Harper said, jumping up and down.

“No, you did not.” Daniel shook his head. “Or you better goddamn not have. I got my pilot out of bed at five in the morning to fly here.”

Harper tried to flutter her eyelashes, but Daniel just raised a brow.

Emma lifted her face to Logans, and they shared a smile.

“Well, congratulations, man.” Daniel reached out his hand to Logan. “And welcome to the family, Emma.”

“Thank you.” She smiled.

“Now you’re in Philly,” Logan said. “You better come inside. Looks like we have a family wedding to plan.”
