“I’m not. What else am I writing?” she snapped at him.

“Okay, fine. It’s Emma, then,” Daniel said.

“Huh?” Emma looked up from her char-grilled corn, and Daniel waved across the table at Logan.

Logan glanced between the two of them.

“Logan. You’re writing about him,” Daniel said.

Emma dropped her corn and cast him a look.

“I’m not—” Emma started.

“She can write what she likes and is not family. Nor is she me. Apologize,” Harper growled at her husband.

His eyes flared, but then she arched a brow, and he conceded. “Fine, not family, but—”

“No buts, Daniel Dufort, I swear to God.”

Hunter snorted.

“Ahh, excuse me. Can I just interrupt here?” Emma waved her hand out. “I amnotwriting a book about Logan.”

Logan lifted his beer. “It’s fine. I get that I’m interesting.”

“Didn’t you say you weren’t settling down?” Fletcher asked. “I heard the girls saying there has to be a happy ever after.”

Good Lord.

“Someone pays attention.” Harper shot her husband a dirty look, and Daniel took a drink of his whisky, slowly shaking his head.

Logan couldn’t help it. He laughed.

“Nope. Not settling down,” he said.

“Same. Me either,” Emma added firmly, but Logan watched her catch herself. “Which is irrelevant. Obviously. So...anyway, not writing about Logan. The end. Who needs another drink?”

Addison and Harper stared at her for a moment, then their eyes almost simultaneously drifted to him.

Oh no they didn’t.

Sorry, ladies, you won’t get anything from me. I’m a pro at poker.

Logan lifted his beer once more, tipped it right back, and said, “I’ll take one. Thank you, Emma.”

She pushed back her chair with a screech and walked inside. When Olivia began to gather the plates, Logan stopped her.

“Let me. I’ll make sure Emma gets the right beer. I brought my own with me,” Logan offered.

“Fussy bastard,” Fletcher teased.

“Hey, I’m the CEO of a liquor company. What do you expect?” Logan laughed.

He didn’t workforthe company.

Logan owned it.

He piled as many plates as he could and walked across the yard and inside, where he found Emma shaking her head and mumbling to herself in the fridge.
