“Just give me five minutes and it’ll make sense. I promise.”

He didn’t look like I was ever going to make sense.

I cut through the house and went out the back door. The one that was all glass.

“Eve!” he yelled, confused.

I grinned as I trudged through the snow toward my house. To finally, completely, make him mine.

SILAS

Where the fuckwas she going? It was freezing. Early. She was practically naked beneath my coat and there was snow. So much snow.

I shut the door and stared into the inky darkness for a moment, then ran to my room to throw clothes on and chase after her.

She hadn’t seemed upset. She wasn’t freaking out. She smiled. Then why would she leave? Where thehelldid she go? Wait five minutes? No fucking way.

Before I could tug on boxers, my cell rang.

“Where the hell are you?” I asked, freaking out.

“Go to your back door.”

“What?” Had she lost her mind?

“Just do it.”

I kept my phone to my ear as I did as she wanted.

“There. That’s where I first saw you. Just like that.”

“What? Naked in my house?”

“Yes.”

“You were making coffee and talking to someone, just like you are now.”

I ran a hand over the back of my neck. “What the hell are you talking about?”

“Turn out the light.”

“Will it get you back here faster?”

“Yes.”

She was crazy. Completely crazy. I did as she said, swiping at the switch on the wall.

“Now look out the back door.”

“Eve, I love you, but I think you–”

And there she was. In the house behind me. Naked. I could only see half of her with the window only exposing her from the navel up, but it was her. I knew those gorgeous breasts anywhere.

“What the fuck?” I muttered. “What the hell are you doing in the neighbor’s house?”

“I’m your neighbor. This is my house. This is my bedroom window.”
