“Fine,” her response bratty and childish.

Thoughts of spanking her perky, round ass one more time cross my mind before placing her feet on the floor.

"If you are going to be staying here a while-“

“What makes you think I’m staying,” she interrupts me.

Reaching out, my fingers wrap around her delicate throat. As much as I want to, I do not squeeze. At least not this time.

“I own you,” my words deep and slow as I use my grip to angle her face up to mine, “and I say you are staying.”

Releasing her, I begin to walk in the direction of the kitchen. My words smug, “Also, the guards outside have been instructed to shoot to kill if you try to leave.”

She lets out a loud huff and the pad of her feet tells me that she has begun to follow behind me, eliciting a small smirk on my face – one I am happy she is not able to see from behind my back.

“You are welcome almost anywhere in the house,” I turn to look at her.

Pausing to point at my father’s office, “Except in there. That room is off-limits. Listen to me on this onepiccola pesca, because even I might not be able to protect you from the wrath of my father.”

Her eyes widen a little before she nods acknowledging that she understands.

“While we are at it,” I turn and continue walking, “it is also probably in your best interest to stay out of V’s room.”

“Who is V,” she quietly questions.

“Venecia,” I reply entering the kitchen, “my sister.”

“You mean your whole family lives here?”

“Yes,” my answer abrupt.

“Aren’t you a little old to still live at home?”

Turning to face her yet again, I am unable to read the expression on her face, but I am certain she is trying to see just how far she can push me.

“Obviously, this is the kitchen. The staff serve both breakfast and dinner seven. If you need something outside of that, help yourself to whatever you want. Except the knives, I suggest you leave those in the drawer.”

Abruptly turning, I walk past her and head down the hall. I can hear her walking quickly behind me, the strides of her shorter legs struggling to keep up with my pace.

After showing her various rooms on the main floor, I push open the double doors to the library.

Avalie

Speed walking, I am trying to keep up with Renzo as he shows me around the house. Right now I am just trying to keep track of where everything is that he is showing me. I will mentally try to unpack the fact that I am being held captive here, yet I have free reign to do almost anything I want later.

Renzo stops in front of a set of wooden double doors, before pushing them both open. Stepping inside behind him, I am in awe of the room that stands before me.

The walls to my left and right are floor to ceiling shelves, lined with books. Stepping further inside and slowly turning, the shelves also fully span the wall behind me. The sun is shining through the wall of windows directly across from me. Through those windows is a lush, colorful garden.

If I am going to be held captive, at least I can pretend to be Belle until I figure out how to get the hell out of here.

“I see you like it in here,” Renzo interrupts my thoughts, his voice almost sounds warm…and inviting.

Shit! Was I smiling?

“You are also permitted to walk in the garden,” his voice immediately back to deep and cold, “The guards will leave you alone out there.”
