ChapterFifteen

Lorenzo

Holding Ava as she comes undone, repeatedly in my arms, is playing on repeat in my mind. When it does stop, I am envisioning all of the things that I want to do with her body. Fucking her with my hard cock until she cannot take any more pleasure.

Walking into a meeting with Dmitriy Andreyev is not the time to be distracted. With Luca and Antonio following behind me, we walk towards the club. Approaching the back door, two men step from the building towards us.

“I am here to see Dmitriy,” addressing them as we continue to approach, “He is expecting me.”

Pulling his suit jacket to the side to reveal the gun tucked into his waistband, the bigger of the two responds in a thick Russian accent, “Stop. We need to check you before you can go inside.”

Spreading my feet and lifting my arms, I prepare to be patted down and searched for weapons. Expecting this, I had handed mine to Luca before we entered the alley. Luca and Antonio are still carrying and ready to use if necessary.

The smaller guy approaches and searches me before nodding to the larger guy. He did such a shitty job that I could have snuck a small arsenal inside with me.

“They stay here,” the big guy gestures towards my guys before turning back to me, “You follow me.”

“Five minutes,” I look towards Luca, trusting that if I do not walk out of this building, he will come in shooting.

Passing through the kitchen, I follow the large Russian up a flight of stairs to an office that overlooks the club below. Standing at the window is Dmitriy Andreyev, second in command to the Andreyev Family.

He is a tall, lanky man just a year older than me – also taking over his father’s business. In our youth, our families were at peace with one another, and we were actually friends. Now, all of the families are at war, fighting to obtain total control of the city, and we have become cordial enemies.

“Lorenzo,” he walks towards me extending his hand, “my old friend.”

Taking his hand in mine, I shake it, “Dmitriy.”

“What is so important that you needed to come down here to see me in person?”

“I am sure you have heard of the string of arsons currently affecting our businesses,” I say flatly sitting into a chair by the window.

“Yes,” he sits, “I have heard your family was having some difficulties and struggling right now.”

“No difficulties,” my words firm, quickly denouncing any perceived weaknesses he may have about the Botticelli’s, “I wanted to look in your eyes when I asked if you knew which of the families was behind it.”

“You mean if the Andreyev’s are behind it,” he scoffs.

“If you are,” my words direct, “you know what that means.”

“Lorenzo,” Dmitriy pauses, “we are old friends.”

“Old friends, Dmitriy. Not current friends,” I stand from my chair and walk towards the door, “I trust, as an old friend, you will let me know if you hear anything.”

“Of course, my friend,” he responds as I exit the office and head back down the stairs. Passing through the door at the rear of the kitchen, I walk towards Luca and Antonio.

“We can go,” I say as Luca hands me back my gun and we head back towards the car. Reaching the car, I climb into the passenger seat, Luca to the driver, and Antonio in the back.

“Is it them,” Luca questions as he starts the car.

“He didn’t deny it,” I reply as Luca pulls away from the alley, “but I don’t think it was him. He’s always been such an arrogant ass, that he would not have been able to deny it. He also didn’t try to kill me.”

Earlier today I arranged similar meetings with important members of the Armenian, Triad, and Yakusa families as well. If someone is going to come for us, they are going to know that we are not afraid to step foot on their turf either.

“Where to,” Luca questions.

“Head to the Armenian’s,” I instruct him, “Levon is expecting us shortly.”

The meetings with each family do not go much differently than my meeting with Dmitriy. Whoever is coming for us, is doing a good job keeping it quiet.
