“Okay, you want to talk, let’s talk,” he ordered. He sounded angry, and she wondered what he had to be upset about. She was the one who was a virgin and that was her business.

“Why do you sound angry?” she asked.

“Because you got naked and climbed into the shower with me like it was no big deal,” he said.

“It wasn’t a big deal,” she insisted. “But having sex with you is a big deal, and I thought that you’d want to know that I’m a virgin.”

“I did want to know,” he insisted. “I just wish you would have told me sooner.”

“When should I have told you, Victor?” she asked. “When I was shoving a needle into your neck to kidnap you or when you were pissed off at me over breakfast? We’ve been together for a hot minute, and you expect me to spill my guts and tell you my darkest secrets?” Trish brushed past him, into the bedroom, and sat on the edge of the bed. She needed a minute to get herself under control, but she should have known better than to try to evade Victor. He wouldn’t let her have her minute, and when he sat down next to her, wrapping his arm around her body, she couldn’t help but lean into him.

“You’re right,” he said. “I shouldn’t be mad about you being a virgin,” he said. “I’m sorry.”

“Thank you for saying that,” she mumbled. “But that doesn’t change the fact that I am still a virgin.”

“And that’s why I think that we should take a step back,” Victor said. She pulled free from his arms and looked him over. Typical man—as soon as he finds out that the woman has no experience, he wants out.

“I might not be any good at sex—yet, but I’d like to try. Hell, I just told you that I’ve been saving my virginity for you, Victor. What more do you want from me?” She paced the floor in front of him, not sure if she should run back to the bathroom and lock herself in or throw herself on the bed and pull off the towel. Nothing seemed to be going right, and Trish was running out of options.

“No,” he breathed, “you said that you were saving yourself for the right guy. You never said that you were saving yourself for me, Trish.”

She turned back to face him and shrugged, “Well, call me crazy, but I’ve always thought of you as the right guy, Victor. I mean, you had to have noticed the way that I’ve always followed you around all these years.”

He nodded, “I did, but I thought that you were just being Bruno’s annoying little sister, wanting to join in with the big kids.”

“No,” she whispered, “I had such a crush on you, it made me crazy. The rest of the guys dismissed me so easily because of my last name, but you were nice to me.”

“I still told you to get lost,” he reminded. Yeah, and that hurt her feelings, but she learned to get over it. She understood that she was younger than the rest of the kids and they didn’t want her hanging around, but Victor always smiled at her and made her feel like less of a pest.

“You were still kind to me, despite my last name,” she said.

“I knew what it felt like to have the other guys look at you differently because of your last name. A lot of the time, they treated me the same way, especially after the wars started breaking out and alliances were made,” he said.

“That part sucked,” she agreed. “Bruno and I always felt like outcasts.”

“I’m sorry that the rest of us made you feel that way, honey,” he said. “But I’m still trying to figure out why you believe that I’m the right guy to take your virginity.”

She shrugged, “Because I’ve been in love with you for a very long time, Victor,” she whispered.

“But we hardly know each other, Trish,” he reminded. She knew enough about him to know that her feelings for him hadn’t diminished over the years.

“Call it a crush then, if that makes you feel better,” she said. “I just know that every time I’ve even dated another man, all I could think about was how I wanted him to be you. I’ve wanted you for a long time now, I’m just hoping that you feel the same way about me.” He reached for her hand and pulled her back down to the bed. She spilled across his lap, straddling him.

“I want you too, Trish,” he breathed. “I just need you to be sure, honey.”

“I’m sure, Victor,” she promised. “I want you.” He pulled her towel free from her body and this time, she made no move to hide from him. “I—I don’t know what to do,” Trish stuttered.

“You don’t have to do anything,” he said. “I’ll take good care of you, baby.” He rolled her back against the mattress and kissed her like he had in the shower. It was all-consuming the way that he licked his way into her mouth, nipping at her bottom lip like he wanted to eat her alive.

Victor worked his way down her body and when he spread her legs, settling between them, she nearly bucked him off the bed. “What are you doing?” she asked.

“I’m going to taste you, Trish,” he said, slowly running his fingers through her pussy again. “Here,” he breathed. “Are you okay with that?” She whimpered and nodded. If his fingers felt as good as they did, she couldn’t wait to feel his mouth on her sensitive girl parts.

She looked down her body as he settled between her legs, watching and waiting for him to make the next move. God, she felt as though she was holding her damn breath waiting for him to put his lips on her body again. The anticipation was killing her.

Victor chuckled, “Relax, honey,” he ordered. “You’re so tense.”

“I guess I’m just nervous,” she admitted.
