“So, they will be together then, with you?” Jodie asked.

“I’m guessing that is the way that it’s going to work, but I haven’t worked up the nerve to ask either of them,” Gen said.

“Don’t you think you should ask one of them? I mean, how will you know what to do?” That was her biggest fear—making a fool of herself because she was clueless about how threesomes worked. She had dreamed of finally getting Myles all to herself for months, and now, she was going to have to share him with another man. Then, there was the whole issue of her being insecure about whether Gavin really liked her or if he was just appeasing Myles by including her. Myles seemed to want to accept her date offer, but Gavin had beat her to the punch. Was she just going to be a third wheel in all this?

“I guess I should, but I’m afraid of what their answers will be,” she admitted.

“Oh, honey,” Jodie whispered. “Well, we better get to work. Not that you need much, but I want to make you irresistible so that you can face down those two handsome men. Ready?”

“I don’t know how to thank you for doing this, Jodie,” Gen whispered.

“No thanks needed. Just fill me in on every detail from your date, and we’ll call things even,” Jodie teased. Gen wasn’t sure if she’d have very much to tell about her night, but she was sure hoping that she’d have at least a juicy kiss to tell her friend about.

Myles showed up at her place to pick her up at six, alone. “Where’s Gavin?” she asked. Gen worried that he had backed out of their date and a part of her wondered if it was because she was along for the ride. “Did he cancel?” she asked.

“Of course he didn’t,” Myles said. “He had to work late and asked if he could just meet us at the restaurant. You didn’t see the group text?” Myles asked.

“Oh, no,” she breathed. “I guess I was busy getting ready and missed the conversation.” Gen suddenly felt very nervous about spending one on one time with Myles. The whole night, she was bracing herself for the two of them. She had no idea what to do or say to just one of them alone.

“It’s not a big deal,” Myles insisted. He looked her up and down and smiled. “You look gorgeous,” he drawled. Gen could feel her cheeks heat as she thanked him for the compliment. She still wasn’t sure how she had gone from being invisible around Myles to having him pay her compliments.

“You look very handsome yourself,” she returned. He did look good out of uniform. He was dressed up enough to make her want to drool, but not enough to make her feel underdressed. She loved that he even went the extra mile and wore a blazer.

“Thanks,” he said, “are you sure that you’re good with seeing both of us like this? I mean, I know that it’s not what you signed up for,” he said.

“I’m good,” she assured. “I’m just not sure what my role is in all of this,” she admitted.

“Role?” Myles questioned. “I’m not sure that I’m following you.” She tried to act nonchalant, picking up her jacket and purse from the back of her couch and heading back to the front door. Honestly, she was having trouble looking Myles in the eyes and if she kept moving, she might not have to.

“Yeah, you know, how do I fit in with the two of you?” she asked. “I barely know Gavin and you know that I showed up at Savage Hell to ask you out the other night. I just don’t want to be a third wheel.” Myles grabbed her hand and pulled her against his body.

“You’d never be considered a third wheel, honey,” he whispered. She wasn’t sure that she was holding her breath until he dipped his head to kiss her. God could Myles Legend kiss too. He took her breath away, and that was saying something.

“Why did you do that?” she asked. “I mean, I’m not complaining, but is that allowed—you know kissing me without Gavin on the actual date with us yet?”

“It’s allowed. There are no rules here, Gen. Did you want me to kiss you?” he asked.

“Um, yes,” she answered honestly.

“Good, then, we didn’t do anything wrong. I’m sure that Gavin will want to kiss you tonight too, if you’re up for that. I know that we all don’t know each other very well, but that’s what tonight is for. There are no roles to play here and no rules, got it?” he asked. She shyly nodded, not sure if she was going to go for it and ask her next question or not, but she was dying to know.

“Will you and Gavin kiss too?” she asked.

Myles chuckled, “I hope so,” he admitted. “Would you mind that?” he asked.

“I don’t think that I would mind at all,” she said. “Will I be able to watch?” she asked.

“You’ll hopefully be participating,” he growled, pulling her in for another long kiss. The thought of being caught up between the two men she was going out with tonight, watching them kiss, made her hot in all the right places.

“I think that this is going to be fun,” she whispered against Myles’s lips.

“I think you just might be right, honey,” he agreed. “Should we go meet Gavin now?” he asked.

“Yes, I think that we should,” she agreed. Myles helped her with her jacket and grabbed her hand into his own. As far as first dates went, this one was starting rather well. She had already had her first kiss and the night was only getting started. Genesis couldn’t wait to find out what came next because she was pretty sure that she was going to love every second of it.
