“Your mom does though. She killed my fucking dad.”
My body stiffens. I think back to that night in the field. How scared I was at ten years old to be dragging a man I didn’t know towards a creek to drop his body off.
“What my mom does doesn’t involve me,” I spit out.
“I see that now. I thought you were a package deal, kind of like she and Mindy.” I raise my eyebrows at the mention of my sister’s name.
“You knew Mindy?”

Maddox
Why the fuck am I telling her everything? I had plans to come to Deadhorse. Plans to kill Maribelle Connor and her slut of a mom. What I didn’t expect was to find out that Maribelle seems to want nothing to do with her mom.
“You knew Mindy?” She pulls me from my thoughts.
“Yeah. I fucked her in a hotel five years ago.” She doesn’t even flinch. Doesn’t even care that I fucked her cracked-out sister. Doesn’t even care that I just told her I wanted to kill her and her mom.
“I’m sure that was a blast.” She smirks and turns her direction to the windshield. It’s hard to hate her when she’s naked in the front seat of my car.
My dick and my brain are on two different wavelengths because all I can think about is pulling her into my lap and fucking the shit out of her.
“She’s not you, that’s for sure.” She laughs.
“My sister was a junkie just like my mom. She probably didn’t even realize she was fucking you when it was happening.” I watch her stare out the window.
“How did you turn out the way you are?” I had no plans to have a heart to heart with her. As soon as I realized who she was, I planned to bring her out here and choke her to death.
She shrugs. “I’m not sure. I guess I got tired of watching the two of them when I was growing up. I want to get out of this shit hole town.”
I pull my shirt over my head and toss it in her direction. “Put this on, you’re distracting me.” She smirks, but surprisingly, she doesn’t argue with me.
“I brought you out here to kill you.” I look in her direction.
“Is that right?” It’s almost as if she doesn’t care.
I grab a cigarette from the glove box and offer her one. “Thanks, you know I don’t usually smoke, but today feels like a good day to start.” She shrugs.
Of course, she looks fucking sexy inhaling a cigarette. “So, how were you gonna do it?” She looks in my direction.
“Do what?”
“Kill me,” she says nonchalantly.
“I wanted to wrap my hands around your neck and squeeze the life out of you.” I watch her pupils dilate, and my dick twitches.
I watch her flick her cigarette out the window and crawl over the middle console until she’s in my lap.
“Are you still gonna kill me?” she whispers in my ear, pulling my earlobe between her teeth.
I reach up and wrap my hands around her neck. She licks my ear and I move one hand from her neck to the back of her head, yanking her backwards by her hair.
“You like that?”
“Yes,” she moans, rocking back and forth against me.
