“Admit what?”

“Admit that you need me. Admit that this is more than just fucking for you.” He smirks.

I’m going to kill him. “Are you serious right now?”

“Absolutely.” It feels like he can see into my soul.

I throw my hands up in defeat. “Fine. It’s more than fucking. Obviously, it’s more than that, you fucking idiot.” He laughs and before I can say anything else, he’s inching closer to me. “What are you doing?”

His hand grips the back of my head, and he puts his lips on mine. I instinctively moan into his mouth. It kills me that he makes me feel things I don’t want to feel.

“Don’t start something you can’t finish.” I push him off of me.

“Who says we can’t finish it?” He smirks.

I gesture towards Tiffany’s body on the floor. “We need to figure out what to do with her. There isn’t any time for a fuck.”

“It’s never stopped us before.” He shrugs. “Fine, fine. Let’s go dump her in the creek with the sheriff.”

“That’s your brilliant idea?”

“Do you have a better one? We can’t leave her here.” He’s right. There are several people that know we were the last two here tonight. I can’t take that risk.

“How are we going to get her out of here?” I glance down at her limp body. I don’t think the blood has stopped pouring from her face. It’s actually pretty disgusting.

“I guess we’re going to have to carry her out. She can’t be that heavy. I’ll do that while you clean up in here.”

After a couple of hours have passed, I finally feel like I have gotten everything I can cleaned up. After Maddox carried Tiffany’s body out to his car, he helped me finish up.

“Alright. Let’s dump this body and go home and get some sleep.” He puts the car in gear, and I lean my head against the headrest. What a long fucking night.

The trip from the car to the creek is longer than I remember. I don’t remember where we dumped the sheriff, but I don’t see his body anywhere. “What now?” I ask, leaning up against a tree.

“I say we just shove her in. Let nature take its course.”

I glance down at Tiffany’s body. There is still blood everywhere. It’s all over my jeans and shirt, and it’s all over Maddox. This is definitely the most gruesome murder I’ve taken part in.

“She was such a bitch,” I mutter.

“I didn’t even know her for long, and even I could tell you she was a bitch.” Maddox looks over at me. It makes me uncomfortable when he tries to figure out what’s going on in my head.

I grab her feet and pull her closer to the edge of the creek. Maddox takes a cue from me and grabs her head. We both heave her body into the water and watch it disappear.

“Another night, another murder. My life has been so exciting since I met you.”

“Shut the fuck up.” I roll my eyes and he laughs.

There has to be something wrong with the two of us. Wind blows through the air, and I can feel the goosebumps rise on my skin. Taking my hands, I rub them up and down my arms.

“Are you cold?” I didn’t even realize he had walked over to me.

“Not cold. More like creeped out. So much death has been here.” I glance out over the water.

Maddox is so close to me, and I can feel his chest rising with every breath. “You’re so fucking beautiful.” He leans down to whisper in my ear.

I roll my eyes. “Please. Don’t start that shit.” I try to shove him off me, but of course it doesn’t work.

“I’m not going to fuck you out here.” I can feel him grin against my neck.
