“I told you I wasn’t interested. Fuck off.” Slipping into my room, I lock the door behind me.

“I’ll get you for that, whore,” he spits, banging on my door.

There’s a cluster of shit hole houses for sale close to the club, and I’ve been seriously considering renting one out. I’ve got plenty of money. They need a ton of work, but I don’t mind work.

Belle: Hey, Tab. Is your mom still renting houses out?

Tabby: Yeah. Get this, she rented one out to that hot as shit guy from the club tonight. She’s still got one more left though. Are you finally ready to dump your mom?

I sigh. The whole town knows what a shit person Destiny is.

Belle: Yeah. I’m beyond ready.

Tabby: Mom said get some sleep and come see her in a few hours.

I toss my phone on my dresser and strip out of my clothes. Crawling between my sheets, naked, is one of my favorite things to do.

It doesn’t take me long to fall asleep. I’m exhausted from the night, and excited about what’s to come.

“Belle! Wake the fuck up.”Destiny’s pounding on my door wakes me. I can’t wait to get the fuck out of this trailer park.

“Go away, Destiny.”

“It’s Mama to you.” She bangs on the door a couple more times.

“What do you want?”

“Get your lazy ass up.”

I put my pillow over my head to try and get a few more minutes of peace. Usually Destiny ignores me, unless she needs something. She must need money.

I throw my legs over the bed and grab a T-shirt from the floor.

“What the fuck, Destiny?” I swing the door open. She’s glaring at me, cigarette hanging out of her mouth.

I hope those kill her one day.

“I need twenty bucks.”

“I don’t have twenty bucks. Leave me the fuck alone.” I go to close the door and her hand shoots up to stop me.

“I’m not stupid. Give me twenty bucks.” I’m worried she’ll dig around in my shit if I don’t get rid of her, so I pull a twenty out of my top drawer.

“Get the fuck out.”

“You’re such a bitch, Maribelle.” She makes sure to draw out my given name. She knows I hate it.

I slam the door in her face and grab some shorts from my drawer. I shove every bit of cash I’ve saved up from my closet into my purse. I have a nagging feeling Destiny is going to break into my room when I’m gone today.

I didn’t miss the way her eyes were roaming the room. It’s definitely time for me to get the fuck out of here.

I manage to slip out of the trailer unnoticed, getting into my piece of shit car.

Jessi Mayfowl is the definition of a slumlord. She’s got a reputation for charging way too much for the biggest shit holes in town. People around here are desperate though.

“Hey, baby. You ready to get out of the trailer park?” Her voice sounds like she’s smoked ten packs of cigarettes a day since she was five.
