“Kane is going to be so upset we didn’t name him after him,” I say, making Sophia laugh.
“The world isn’t big enough for two Kane Kingston’s,” she says.
“Should I go get everyone?” I ask.
“Not yet. How about you take a moment to hold your son first,” she suggests.
I carefully take him from her––he looks so tiny in my big arms.
“I can’t believe we made this amazing little person,” I say, glancing at Sophia––who has tears in her eyes.
I realize it’s going to be a lot of hard work to be the kind of father that Karson deserves. I’m going to have to start from scratch. I never had anyone to look up to, but I’m going to try every day to make sure he does.
