“No, but you are living in his house.”

“My mom would never let him throw me out,” I point out.

“That’s true. You are a mama’s boy.” He laughs.

“Says the fucking mama’s boy sitting right next to me.”

We pull up to the giant house on the lake, people spilling out onto the lawn. I can see a bonfire in the back. This place is packed. I’ll likely never find them in there.

“Got a plan?” Tyler asks, climbing out of the truck.

“Not really. Just let me know if you see one of them.” He nods in response, high fiving a few people in the yard before stopping to talk to a girl on the porch.

Maybe he wasn’t the right person to bring. We haven’t even been here five minutes and he’s already distracted by some pussy.

When I push the door open, I can immediately smell the liquor. The house is packed with sweaty bodies, and the floor is littered with empty red solo cups.

“Cole!” A guy I knew from high school throws his hand up in a wave.

I nod in his direction but turn the opposite way. I don’t remember his name and I don’t want an awkward conversation with him while I’m trying to figure it out. Frankly, I don’t give a shit what his name is.

“Watch out!” someone says when I accidentally run into them in my rush to get away from him.

“Whoa, sorry.” I put my hands on the mystery girl's shoulder before turning my attention to her.

Charlotte.

“What are you doing here?” she asks, glaring.

“I could ask you the same thing. You’re only a junior in high school.”

She shrugs my hands off her before crossing her arms over her chest. I don’t think she’s aware that the action is making her cleavage spill out of the top of her shirt. It’s taking everything in me not to pull her into a dark room and have my way with her.

What the fuck is my problem?

“Contrary to popular belief, I am capable of taking care of myself.”

“I’m sure you can, but you’re in a house full of horny college guys that don’t give a shit about your innocence,” I say.

“Who says I have any innocence left?” she shoots back.

I’ll be damned if the thought of her fucking some random guy doesn’t make me want to light the whole house on fire.

It also brings my dick to life.

I’ve lost my mind.

When I don’t respond to her, she turns on her heels, walking away from me. I reach out to grab her arm, but a group of people come between us, and I lose her in the crowd. My fucking sister and her friend are going to make me go to jail tonight.

I run my hand through my hair, frustrated, already losing sight of Charlotte. The place seems to be getting more packed by the minute. This was a colossal waste of time, and honestly, I’m not even sure what I’m doing here.

If there’s anything I know about Cameron, it’s that she can take care of herself. Sure, she’ll find a shit load of trouble on the way, but she knows how to handle whatever’s thrown at her. Maybe it’s Charlotte I’m worried about?

“Hey there.” I look over and a redhead slides up next to me.

I glance at her, back at the party, and then back in her direction again. “Hey.”

“I haven’t seen you around,” she says, scooting closer.
