After a few moments, he wraps his arms around my waist and turns us onto his back. I collapse on top of him, high on alcohol, my orgasms, and him. Our chests rise and fall in synchronicity. I lay my head on his shoulder and close my eyes, reveling in the feeling of us. I’m so sated and completely limp, I just want to sleep.

I squint my eyes to peek at him, and I find him watching me. His eyes are hooded, but not the way they were before. For all the amused looks and smirks he usually wears, I didn’t expect his expression of joy to look like he does now. His eyes are lighter, and his lips are tilted up with his dimples on display.

He doesn’t say anything, and I don’t either. I don’t want to ruin this moment by speaking, or remembering that it’s just for tonight. I adjust my head to his chest and close my eyes, snuggling in while I can. As I’m about to fall asleep, Lorenzo slides me off of him. When he rises from the bed, I lift my head.

“Sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you.”

“Where are you going?” I don’t recognize my voice, whispered and loose.

“I’m going back out. You can sleep here though, I’ll tell Santi.”

“No, no. I’ll get up.”

“Do you want me to order you an Uber?”

What in the world? He’s kicking me out?

His hot and cold act is getting to me and I hold back the tears that are threatening to spill over. “Uh, no, I can do it. I need my phone though.” Lorenzo pulls his boxers and jeans on at once, zipping and buttoning them before digging in my purse.

“Here.” The screen lights up and we both glance down at it.
