“What’s that look on your face, Layton Ranger?”

“You’ll see, Olivia Morgan.”

I suck my middle finger deep into my mouth, licking her taste from it, and reach behind her. On a downward roll, I breach her ass and pull her to my mouth to absorb her moan.

“You full, baby?”

“So full.”

“You want more?”

Her eyes are comical when she shakes her head. “No. I’m close. Are you?”

“I’ve been close since you walked out here in my tee with no panties.”

I twist my finger and pull out on her next roll, and she breaks. I take her mouth, swallowing her screams and giving her mine as I explode inside her. She rolls through my orgasm, extending it.

Against her lips, I ask, “Is there something special you want in a ring? I have an idea that I like, but I don’t know if you have a dream about something.”

She stops moving and stares at me. “I… I don’t have anything I dream about as far as jewelry.”

Noted.

“What do you dream about?”

She sighs and looks away before turning her gaze back to me. “Babies. Not today. But it’s just theneverthat hurts. Am I messing up your dream of having kids?” The fear on her face churns my gut.

“I’ve never dreamed of babies. I’ve dreamed of a happy life, a Super Bowl ring, and not getting fat and bald. So, no, you’re not taking from me. You add to me.” I look out over the lake, my mind whirling. “But I need to know. Do you dream of those naturally? What about adoption or surrogacy?”

“Adoption is expensive, Layton. Like ridiculously expensive. And surrogacy… I’ve never looked into it. But I can only imagine it’s more. That’s what celebrities do. That’s not for normal people.”

“Livy, we’re not poor. You need to know that my life is complete with you, with or without anything more. I need to know from you if you need the more to be complete? Real talk—yes or no?”

“Maybe?”

“In a perfect world where every option was on the table, what would you choose?”

“I’d choose not to have my body want to kill me.”

“Perfect world.”

“In a perfect world, I’d want babies with your chin and your eyes. And I’d want a baby or two that needed us and our brand of crazy-perfect.”

“By my count, we’re at four.”

“In a perfect world, they sleep through the night, are brilliant, never get in trouble, and I never lose my body or my temper. They have your charm and personality, and we have live-in staff to cook and clean. And jet packs to take us everywhere we want to go.”

“And are we in this house?”

She looks up at my house. “Yes. You exhale here. You have memories of your mom here. We have enough room, but not so much we could lose a child or a dog.”

“If we lose Kyle in the house, we need an ophthalmologist on staff too.”

“It seems reasonable in a perfect world.”

“So the ring is my call, and the babies are yours. I agree to your terms. Will your doctor in Atlanta be the best resource for discussing what we need regarding surrogacy? Or can he or she guide us the right way?”

“You remember that?”
