"I bet you found a couple of women to keep you company." She looks over my shoulder. "Are they still in the room?"

"No," I say. "I sent them home after they sucked me off."

"Jerk." She moves to walk away.

I gently grab her arm. "I'm joking. Can’t you take a joke?"

She jerks away. "Not from someone as notorious as you."

I arch my brows. "Notorious, huh?"

"How would you describe your reputation?"

I stop to think for a moment.

She jabs my chest with her index finger. "Exactly." She looks over her shoulder. "My dad isn't from money like you are. He had to work hard for everything. You invested in his company, but he did all the hard work. You are on the island as my father's guest." She steps away. "Don't embarrass my family."

I narrow my eyes at her. "That's a lot of big talk for someone who doesn't even know me."

She turns on her heel and marches away.

I chuckle to myself. It seems Cassidy is more than meets the eye. She's sassy and feisty, with a spine of steel beneath her delicate exterior. I can't help but admire her courage and conviction.

A small smile curves my lips as I watch her walk away, loving how her hips sway.

I enter the dining room and am instantly charmed by its cozy atmosphere. The walls are painted a warm golden hue, with white accents around the windows and doors. Wicker chairs surround the circular dining room table, and a bowl of seashells sits in the middle. A large window overlooks the sea, providing a breath-taking view of the waves crashing against the shore. The sound of seagulls fills the air, and a warm breeze flows in from outside.

The room is inviting, with lush green plants and bright flowers arranged throughout the space.

Cassidy is seated at the table and lays one of the white napkins on her lap. She purposefully avoids looking at me.

Nina, the family's housekeeper, enters the dining room. “Good morning, Cassidy. How did you sleep, pretty girl?” She kisses Cassidy on the cheek.

"Good, and what about you?"

Nina smiles, "It's always easy to fall asleep to the sound of crashing waves." She looks over at me. "You got in late."

"Keeping tabs on me?"

"Someone has to keep you in line."

Cassidy mutters, "An impossible task."

I ignore her. "How's your family?"

I've only met Nina twice, but I instantly liked her. I rarely like anyone, but it's hard not to smile in her presence.

"They are good. Raul and the boys are keeping busy while I'm away."

Cassidy frowns. "I'm sure dad wouldn't mind if you stayed behind."

Nina waves her off. "I need a break. I love my husband and children, but a week away in Martha's Vineyard is just what I need." She smiles. "I'll bring breakfast out."

She heads towards the kitchen.

"I'll help." Cassidy jumps up and follows Nina, clearly not wanting to be alone with me.

"Good morning, Ivan," Antonio says as he enters the room, clapping me on the back. He wears a white linen shirt tucked into khaki shorts and boat shoes. "I hope you slept well."
