Dane leads us through a series of stretches and warm-up exercises, his energy contagious. Before long, I find myself getting into the rhythm of our workout, my muscles aching in protest as I push myself harder.

I catch my breath and glance over at my brother. "So, things have been getting better between Emily and Katrina.”

Dane's relationship with Katrina, who used to be best friends with his daughter Emily, had caused some strain in their family.

I nod, relieved to hear that things are settling down for them. Family means everything to me, and I know how much Dane loves his daughter.

As I lift the weights, my mind wanders to that steamy encounter with Quinn. The way her body pressed against mine, her lips tasting like sweet temptation, and the feel of her tight wet pussy.

It was electrifying, and I can still feel the heat of her touch on my skin. When her phone rang, it was news about her grandmother in the hospital. In that moment, our passion was replaced by concern, and I immediately took her to the hospital.

Since then, we haven't talked about what happened between us. But damn it, I can't stop thinking about her. Not just the physical attraction but the emotional connection as well. She's my daughter’s nanny, and I know a workplace romance is not a good idea. Yet, I can't deny the pull I feel towards her.

As I push through another rep, I wonder how her grandmother is doing. I told Quinn to take all the time she needs to look after her grandmother. Family comes first.

Paige’s mom, Joanne, is back in town and was more than happy to keep Paige for a week or longer.

I know how important family is to Quinn, and it hurts to see her going through this tough time. I want to be there for her, to support her, but will that only make things more complicated between us?

I shake my head, trying to focus on the workout. "Come on, Ezra," I mutter to myself. "Get your head in the game."

But no matter how hard I try, I can't shake the image of Quinn's sultry gaze, the curve of her hips, or the sound of her breathless moans. It's as if she's seared into my every thought, and I'm finding it harder and harder to resist her allure.

I need to figure out what to do about these feelings for Quinn. I can't keep going on like this, torn between desire and responsibility. Maybe it's time for an honest conversation with her, laying everything on the table. But will that bring us closer together or drive us apart?

"You've been awfully quiet today, Ezra. Is everything okay?"

I hesitate before answering, weighing my words carefully. "I'm just worried about Quinn, that's all," I admit and share what happened to her grandmother. I don’t tell him about my feelings for her or our encounters. I’m not yet ready to share that with my brother.

Dane nods, his eyes showing understanding. "Just remember, you can't fix everything for everyone. Sometimes people just need to know that someone cares."

His words resonate with me, and I realize that no matter what happens, I'll always be there for Quinn.

Dane shoots me a curious look. "And what about you? When are you going to get back out there and start dating again?"

I glance at Dane, hesitating for a moment before answering. "I don't know," I say with a shrug. "I've been pretty busy with NexTech lately."

Dane chuckles and shakes his head. "You know, you can't work all the time. You need to find some balance in your life, man."

"I know, I know," I reply, picking up a heavier set of weights.

We continue our workout, the gym's thumping music and the sound of weights clinking together fills the air. I try to stay focused on the task at hand, but it's hard not to think about Quinn.

Suddenly, I feel a sharp pain in my lower back. I grimace, realizing that I've pushed myself too hard. I drop the weights, trying to hide my discomfort from Dane.

"You okay?" he asks, concern etched on his face.

"Yeah, just overdid it a bit," I admit, rubbing my lower back. "I guess I'm not as young as I used to be."

Dane chuckles, patting me on the shoulder. "Maybe you should take it easy for a while. And while you're at it, give some thought to what we talked about earlier. Life's too short not to enjoy it, brother."

He starts packing up his gear, and I walk over to the water cooler to refill my bottle. I notice a woman approaching me. She's tall and toned, with long, dark hair cascading down her back. Her tight clothes show off her sculpted figure, and she wears a confident smile.

"Hey there," she says, her voice inviting. "I couldn't help but notice you from across the gym. You're quite the athlete."

I flash a polite smile, feeling my brother's eyes on me. "Thanks, I appreciate that. Just trying to stay in shape."

Her gaze lingers on my muscles, and she bites her lip. "Well, it's definitely working for you. I'm Lisa, by the way."
