“Yes, sir.” I hand him the helmet and let him lead me onto the porch, excited to see Father’s reaction to having us both back home again.

“Are you sure?” he questions me again, attempting to look through the curtains, and then glances back at me with a raised brow when I don’t immediately answer.

“Yes, Leiv. I’m sure.” I huff, reaching around him for the doorknob.

“Attitude, Wild One. Check it.” He grabs me by the arm and nudges me behind him. “If he’s even half as mad as you said he would be, I’m not risking him catching us by surprise and hurting you. I’m going in first, so just keep your damn mouth shut. Got It?”

He has made a very good point. If Alastor has managed to get free, he will be furious, and his main goal will be to punish me.

“Okay, Leiv.” I stand slightly behind him, happily tucking myself against his side, and slide my hand into his. He glances back with a small smile but pushes through the door into the living room.

“So, you fucking found him.” Father sneers from his chair as soon as we step into sight, looking a tad paler but otherwise still alive and healthy. “This doesn’t change anything, Carwen. Now, let me up.”

“Doesn’t it though?” Leiv strolls farther into the room, taking a seat on the table in front of Alastor’s chair, and tugs me down on his lap.

“Keep your hands off of her,” he seethes from his recliner, struggling against the straps still holding him in place.

“You spilled your water, Daddy.” I tisk, looking down at the mess beside his chair. “Did you manage to drink any of it while I was out?”

“You know I didn’t because you intentionally left it half of an inch too far from me for me to reach it, Wild O-”

“Don’t you fucking dare!” Leiv shouts, his anger suddenly exploding and interrupting Alastor when he shoots to his feet, knocking me from his lap and into the puddle on the floor with a hard thud.

He looks unhinged, but I can see behind his wild gaze into the depths of his soul where he’s carefully calculating his next move. I want to stand with him as he sets our home in order, the tick of his jaw a silent promise of what he’s planning to unleash. I need to feel his fury in its raw physical form so desperately I’m practically trembling, frantic to join in his chaos and savor the elegant agony as the flames of his retribution lick across my bare flesh, cauterizing the festering wounds inflicted by Alastor’s weakness. The air is thick with tension, and I bite my tongue to keep from begging him to get on with it, but instead, I stay silent. I straighten my hair and shift onto my knees, laying the backs of my hands on each of my thighs with my open palms up, and straighten my shoulders, waiting for his approval like a good girl in my discarded spot on the wet hardwood floor. I ignore the stale, almost slimy feel of the tepid water as it soaks into the fabric of my dress, causing the light cotton fabric to cling to my bare thighs as he looms over my father.

His heaving breaths hypnotize me, every tug against the already tense corded muscles in his neck and shoulders fueling my conviction. I wonder what those muscles feel like right now. Will the count of each pulsing beat of his heart, or muscular contraction as he moves, differ when they are fueled by vengeance instead of passion? I want to hearthatversion of his heart song, but for now, I’ll just kneel at his feet, captivated by his commanding presence, and memorize each shift of his body so that when he finally does invite me to dance with him, I’ll be able to match his steps with confidence.

A shiver runs down my spine when he growls, pulling me from my wandering thoughts. “Don’t you fucking call her that! It’s not your name to use. You have no right, you selfish son of a cunt.”

“Don’t I, though? What have you done with your father, Leiv? Your mother? Where are they?” Alastor fumes, making his face turn a deep shade of red I’ve never seen on him before. “I’ve kept her safe all of this time, and here you are, ready to tear it all apart.”

“I’m here to tearyouapart, old man.” Leiv sneers.

“And Carwen?”

“She’s mine.” Leiv bangs his fist to his chest to punctuate each bellowed word, “You promised her to me, and then you threw me away when I was still too young to stand a chance at fighting back; but every second you kept her from me, I spent preparing for the day I would come here and take it all back. Well, today’s your day, Alastor. You’re not strong enough to stop me, not anymore.”

“Congratulations, you grew into your big boy body, but looking like a man doesn’t actually make you one. You have no idea what it takes to care for a family like ours, and you aren’t capable of making necessary sacrifices to keep it strong. Your obsession with Carwen didn’t begin when you lost her; it started the moment I laid her in your arms as an infant and told you she was yours.”

“And then you got greedy.”

“I did what I did, not because I’m a selfish man, but because I’m an observant one. There’s something wrong with you, Leiv,” Alastor practically growls, struggling to sit up. “We’re all fucked up, but you were born carrying something evil.”

“Don’t psycho-bullshit me,” Leiv snorts. “You were just jealous because you knew she would always choose my love over yours.”

“And this is why you will fail her.” My father exhales roughly and turns his head to look me in the eye. “His love is noxious. Your time with him may be new and exciting, but mark my words, it will be short and end in a blaze of misery. You’re a strong girl, but not even you will survive the decimation of his affections.”

“Fancy words from a desperate man.” Leiv glances from Alastor to me, a dangerous gleam flickering in his eyes, and I shrink slightly under the weight of his scrutiny.

“Well, look at her! Discarded and kneeling in a puddle of old water while you bicker with me. She deserves my ire, but not yours. You should be rewarding her for doing what no one else has been able to do- stop me. Instead, you tossed her to the floor in anger. She’s kneeling at your feet, and you don’t even realize what that means.” He smirks. “You’re submitting to a boy, Carwen. He doesn’t deserve your body or your loyalty.”

“Oh, I know exactly what to do with both.” Leiv raises a thick brow and moves his right hand to the zipper of his jeans. “It’s where she belongs, isn’t it? After all, it is the Greene way.”

He tugs down his fly and pulls his cock from his pants. Then he crooks his finger, motioning me closer, and I eagerly scoot until my knees touch the tips of his shoes.

“I think Ol’ Alastor needs a bit of convincing. Open.” He smacks his dick against the top of my head before lowering it and pushing into my mouth. “Just like that. Suck it, Wild One.”

“I swear-” Alastor seethes, not taking his eyes off of me, but Leiv commands my undivided attention when he jerks forward roughly, burying himself deeper in my throat.
