“Yeah, I guess it does. It just sort of went with Chains.” He laughed. “I was only joking, you know.”

“How about Axle,” she said.

“Yeah, I like that one,” he said. “You know…if we were like normal people we’d probably call him Michel Toussaint Jr.”

“But we’re not are we? Normal people.” He smiled. “You and I…we’ll never be normal but aren’t we going to have some fun, this little family of ours. Hey – what if it’s a girl?”

“Hmm…Can’t think,” he told her.

“How about Juniper?” Juliette said.

“I love that.”

“So do I,” she said. “Juniper Toussaint.”

“You want her to have my name?”

“Not at all, unless you marry me.”

“You want to marry me?” he asked.

“Well, if you don’t ask me I’m going to ask you.”

Kneeling down, Chains held Juliette’s hands in his, and with a look of love, he began, “Juliette Martin...”

“Yes…yes…”

“No, wait...” She let out a soft giggle. “Juliette Martin, will you make me the happiest man in the world by becoming my wife?”

“With all my heart and all my soul, and as my mother watches us from above, there’s nothing I want more than to marry you, Michel Toussaint. The Chains that bind our love are unbreakable. You have unchained my heart, and now, it belongs to you forever.”

Then, without warning, she burst into tears, her eyes filled with overwhelming joy. Chains, on the other hand, was wrestling with his own surge of emotions, doing his best to keep them under control.

A quiet prayer of gratitude bubbled up in her heart.

“Merci Dieu. Merci pour ce bel homme. Je le mérite.”

Thank you, God. Thank you for this beautiful man. I deserve him.
