But I messed it all up with Daddy.

I left and I can’t go back.

Not now and not ever!

The only thing that Lilly wanted to focus on was navigating the tight corners and slightly bumpy road as she made her way through the small woodland pathways that would take her to the road out of Stallion Valley.

‘Jester, I wish you could cycle too,’ Lilly said, a tear rolling down her perfectly porcelain cheek. ‘We could get a tandem. How about that?’

Usually, talking to her stuffie would cheer Lilly up. It was almost a fail-safe guarantee. But not this time, however. If anything, talking to Jest was making Lilly feel even worse.

Lilly associated Jester with her identity as a Little. And the first thing that came to her mind when she thought of that? Well, that was her Daddy Tyler of course.

‘Nope! I won’t think about him,’ Lilly said, nearly swallowing a fly as she sped down a hill. ‘No more Daddy. No more Stallion Valley. No more-’

But before she could finish her sentence, Lilly was about to make a very painful discovery – if you don’t focus on the road ahead of you, you might just take a fall!

Chapter8

Tyler

Tyler strode back into the cottage with a big smile on his face. Him and his posse of Daddies had completed the hike in a record beating time.

‘Damn it feels good to be a Daddy!’ Tyler roared as he undid the laces on his hiking boots and walked into the kitchen. ‘Little Lilly? Where are you hiding?’

Tyler didn’t wait for a response and headed straight into the kitchen. Or more specifically, straight toward the refrigerator. After a hard hike in the sun, Tyler needed a big tankard of ice cold water and he needed it ASAP.

As Tyler glugged down the water, he suddenly realized that Lilly might not in fact be hiding in the house.

Huh. That’s strange.

Her laptop’s not on the table.

But what’s that…

Tyler walked over toward the kitchen table and picked up the note. It was from Lilly. And…

‘What the fuck is this?’ Tyler said, stunned at what he was reading. ‘Leaving? Forever?’

Tyler had absolutely no idea why Lilly had abruptly decided everything was over between them. It made no sense. And to leave Stallion Valley too? This was bizarre.

It made no sense to Tyler. He had been living under the impression that they were both equally happy with the way things were going. But to read this note, it felt like Tyler had been the happy one whereas Lilly was struggling.

But what did I do?

Which signals did I miss?

Suddenly, Tyler’s feelings of shock and upset were replaced with anger and frustration. Had the whole thing been a lie? Did Lilly even care about him at all?Ever?

All too quickly, the feeling of satisfaction from a power-hike all but disappeared. Tyler felt a ball of angry energy building up inside him. Part of him wanted to lash out and trash the cottage.

But Tyler knew better than that, even in his most angry of states. No, what Tyler needed to do was reach out to the one Daddy friend who always had the answer when it came to stress-busting activity.

It was time to hit Cyrus’s gym.

* * *

Tyler burst in through the gym doors like a man on a mission. The sound of seriously heavy metal clinking and clunking was just what Tyler needed to hear in that moment.
