With a big smile on her face and the sparkle well and truly back in her eyes, Chrissie picked up her house key and made her way out.

It was time to seeexactlywhat Stallion Valley had in store for Chrissie…

Chapter4

Jack

‘And that, fine ladies and gentlemen of Stallion Valley, is a Jack Malleypromise,’ Jack said, his beaming smile and earnest, focused stare holding everyone’s attention.

Jack was holding court in the Stallion Valley Diner. Standing at six feet and three inches, Jack was hard to miss. With his solid, muscular frame and movie star good looks he was unmissable in fact.

Jack Malley was a local business owner with a hand in much of what was good and great about Stallion Valley. It was a family thing. The Malley family were one of the founding families of Stallion Valley itself, and Jack was now leading the way in maintaining and improving Stallion Valley for the twenty first century.

Jack may have been forty-five years old, but he had a modern sensibility and was very much tuned into the wider world.

That said, he was a traditionalist too. Jack knew what made Stallion Valley a special place and would do anything to protect that.

Jack had a dominant side.

Well, that would be an understatement. Jack was a fully-fledged Daddy Dom. It was deeply rooted in his identity and had been ever since he became man. Jack knew how he liked things done, and when it came to discipline and order, he was uncompromising.

Jack’s reputation around Stallion Valley was as a charming, approachable, and thoroughly decent gentleman from the best stock. But it was also well known that you do not mess with Jack Malley – especially when matters pertaining to Stallion Valley are concerned.

The small crowd around Jack dispersed and returned to their seats. The Stallion Valley Diner was an institution as much as it was a place to grab a milkshake, pot of hot Joe, or a stack of Mama Lorraine’s syrupy pancakes.

With its retro stylings and always welcoming atmosphere, the diner was always a great place to be. Which is why perhaps that Jack and his fellow Daddy buddies liked to hang out together there so much.

‘Sheez, if I’d known we were coming to a political rally I would have waited outside!’ Cyrus said, holding his hands over his rock-hard chest as he laughed.

‘Yeah, yeah, get all the jokes out,’ Jack said, taking his seat at the booth with Cyrus and Tyler. ‘Come on, Tyler. I know you have one too.’

‘Nah, you’re good dude,’ Tyler said. ‘I just need to fucking eat!’

The three Daddies laughed. Jack motioned over to Mama Lorraine, and she nodded and hollered back to him.

‘Three Daddy Special, on its way!’

As they waited for the food to arrive, Jack explained some of the issues he had been dealing with that week. Despite being a small town, Stallion Valley always had plenty going on. And being a prominent member of the community meant that Jack was almost always involved on one level or another.

Not that Jack minded helping out the community. He actually loved it. And with a possible run at becoming Stallion Valley Mayor coming up, Jack knew that it was necessary to keep his profile high.

The only downside of this was that Jack lived much of his life in the public glare. It meant he always had to watch how he spoke and how he went about his business.

This was fine in the most part, but it did sometimes make Jack wish he could be nothing more than a regular citizen and go about his business in privacy.

Hmph. Maybe it’s why I’m still single.

Whatever.

After finishing off his Daddy Special stack of savory pancakes, Jack bade farewell to his Daddy buddies. It wasn’t even noon yet and his list of chores and meetings was growing by the second.

It was time to his the Stallion Valley streets and be Charming Jack Malley…

Jack had met with two business owners, a journalist from the Stallion Valley Times, and helped an old lady carry an electric keyboard from the music store to her car.

For anyone else, this might have seemed like a lot to contend with. But for Jack? Well, it was more or less standard.
