“Sunshine, the only word I heard there is off.” He motions come here.

She squeals as he lifts her into his arms. “How are you making that dirty?”

“Me getting you off? Hmm, how could I make that dirty?” He leans down to kiss her.

It’s not some chaste, PDA avoiding kiss.

They’re full-on making out. Tongue. Grinding. Touching over the clothes.

It’s hot.

And cute too.

They’re opposites. She’s barely five feet tall and dressed entirely in black. He’s tall, tan, and dressed like an Abercrombie model.

“You’re supposed to introduce your girlfriend,” Wes says. “But if you guys want to give us a show…” He nudges me. “You want a show, angel?”

My cheeks flush. “Depends where it ends.”

“You guys escalating to penetration this time?” Wes calls.

The woman flips him off.

Dean pulls back with a smile. “What do you think, sunshine? We could do it right here.”

“Get real, dick face,” she says.

The nickname makes him smile. “You trying to turn me on?”

“Why is it the word dick—”

“Oh, fuck, Chloe. You said it again.” He brings his hands to her ass. Keeps her body against his. “We keep doing this—”

“Down boy.” She laughs.

He leans in to whisper in her ear, but he doesn’t lower his volume. At all. “That to me or my—”

Her laugh gets louder. “Both of you.”

He sets her down.

She turns to us with a sheepish expression. “Sorry, I, uh… I’m Chloe. I’ve heard a lot about you, Quinn.” She shakes with a strong grip.

“There’s gossip, isn’t there?” I ask.

She pulls two fingers over her mouth my lips are sealed.

“Sunshine, don’t tell me that’s true,” Dean says.

She swats him.

He laughs. “I remember hearing something about Wes wanting that sweet virgin pussy.”

“Oh yeah?” I turn to Wes.

“No.” He shoots Dean a get real look.

Wait. “Oh. So everyone knows I’m—”

“Now, we do.” Dean chuckles. “That’s the oldest trick in the book, Quinn.”

Shit, it is.

“You look smarter than that,” he says.

“Glasses don’t make someone smart.” I tap my frames.

Dean shakes his head. “Maybe. But they make you look pretty fucking hot.”

“Watch it.” Wes pulls me closer. “Or I’ll have to kill you.”

“Oh?” Dean raises a brow.

Wes nods.

“You think I’m afraid of you?” He turns to his girlfriend. “Chloe could kill me like that.” He snaps his fingers. “You want to show them something?”

“Mmm… hurting you… might be fun. But not right now.” She reaches for the door.

He jumps in front of her. Opens it for her.

She shoots him a you’re ridiculous look as she slips inside. “You make me wait another five minutes, I’m going to demand tea.”

“There’s a London Fog in the thermos in my backpack.” He smiles.

“Sometimes, I really love you,” she says.

“Only sometimes?” he asks.

She nods, and motions come here.

He does.

They kiss like the ship is going down.

Dean turns to us. “Wes introduce you to everyone else on this expedition?”

“I know Griffin and Juliette,” I say.

“Shit, you’re hanging out without me?” Dean shakes his head. “Cruel.”

“Yeah, can’t imagine why we’d skip your invite,” Wes says. “It’s not like you’re obnoxious or something.”

Dean blows him a kiss.

He makes a show of dodging it.

I pretend to catch it.

Dean chuckles. “I like her.” He slides into the car. Takes the seat next to his girlfriend.

Wes motions after you.

Our stuff is packed in the trunk.

This is it.

First stop Vegas.

Then the rest of my fucking life.

We pick up Griffin and Juliette at his apartment.

He looks the same as always—all tall, tattooed, and handsome.

She looks different.

Don’t get me wrong. I don’t know Juliette that well. We’ve only met a few times. But she always seemed calm and together.

Right now…

There’s something about her expression. Like she’s fraying at the seams.

I get that.

I’m there.

I can’t even imagine calling off an engagement.

Or having a sexy as sin best friend there to console me.

God, Griffin really is hot.

Don’t get me wrong. My heart beats only for Wes. But I can certainly see the appeal of the dark-haired tattoo artist.

“Have you been to Vegas before?” I take the seat next to Juliette. Well, sorta. She and Griffin are on the bench in the back. Wes and I are in the single seats in front.

This car is ridiculously huge.

“Only as a kid.” She smooths her denim shorts. “It’s freezing in here.”

“It’s already ninety outside,” Dean calls from the front seat. “If I turn the air down, we’ll melt.”

“There’s a blanket behind you,” Chloe says.

“Oh yeah?” Griffin chuckles. “Is it used?”

Chloe clears her throat.

Juliette blushes. Just barely, but she does. “I’ll pass.”

“Here.” Griffin shrugs his hoodie off his shoulders. Slides it over hers.

She smiles wide and looks up at him with puppy eyes. “I’m not sure I can stomach advertising your shitty taste in music.” She points to the band logo on the front.

One of those bluesy bands where the singer mumbles every line.

I know Wes hates this particular band, but they’re kinda awesome.

Griffin taps her shoulder with his. “Thank fuck Chase isn’t here.”
