“Everything’s all planned. Blayze and I will meet you guys at your place, and we’ll go to the restaurant together,” Georgiana told her.

“Perfect! You better get going. Dinner is in a few hours.”

After everyone exchanged goodbyes, I took Morgan’s hand and we walked down the alley to the back of the building to head up to her place. All evidence of the cat was gone, and the only difference was the new doormat that Lincoln had bought and set up earlier while we were out at the ranch.

Once inside Morgan’s apartment, we both moved toward the kitchen, neither of us saying a word. She reached into the fridge and pulled out a water. “Want one?”

“No, thanks.” I stepped toward her. “Why do you suddenly seem nervous?”

She let out a light chuckle. “Because I am. Usually people date first, then move in together.”

Smiling, I brushed a piece of hair behind her ear. “We can go as fast or as slowly as you want, Morgan.”

Nodding, she whispered, “I know. It’s just…I feel like this is a dream. I’ve wanted you to look at me like this for so long, and now…” Her voice faded.

“And now what?”

Those blue eyes lifted and met my questioning gaze. “I don’t want to mess this up. I don’t want you to regret anything, or to have regrets myself…even though I’d love to have you take me into my room to do all kinds of wicked things to me.”

I groaned and shut my eyes.

She placed her hand on my shirt and fisted it. “I also like the idea of knowing you’re here, in my place, always nearby. Does that make sense?”

Opening my eyes, I lifted her hand and turned it, kissing her wrist. “Yes, sweetheart. It makes sense. How about we relax and get ready for our date tonight? I’ll stay in the guest room, you stay in your room, and I’ll meet you back out here whenever you’re ready.”

A wide grin erupted across her beautiful face. “It’s going to be really hard, knowing you’re in the shower on the other side of my apartment. Naked and wet.”

I rubbed the back of my neck. “You have to stop saying things like that, Morgan, or I’m going to say fuck it and make you mine right here in the kitchen.”

Her eyes widened and her nostrils flared slightly. In her baby blues, I could see that she wanted me just as much as I wanted her, and something about that knowledge flooded me with a happiness I’d never known. It felt like an empty space in my chest was slowly filling up.

After one more heated look, she sighed. “Okay. You go get ready and I’ll meet you back out here in a little while.”

I leaned down and kissed her nose. “Sounds good.”

It didn’t take me long to get ready. I had planned on taking Morgan to Le Vacher at some point anyway, so I’d packed a pair of dress pants and a shirt, along with a tie and dress shoes. My phone buzzed while I was grabbing a water, and I glanced over at it on the kitchen counter.

Bradford: I’d love to pair some wine with tonight’s dinner, unless you have something else in mind?

I smiled as I typed back my reply.

Me: I will definitely leave the wine pairing to you, my friend.

He sent me a thumbs-up emoji in response.

“What has you smiling?”

When I glanced over to Morgan, who was standing in the door to her bedroom, I nearly dropped to my knees. She looked gorgeous.

“Wow. Morgan, you look beautiful.”

I saw a hint of pink infuse her cheeks. “Thank you. I designed this dress. It’s part of our exclusive line.”

I took in the black dress she was wearing. It hugged her curves in the most delicious way. The front fell to her knees while the back of the dress hung a bit lower. It was off the shoulder…and shit if it didn’t showcase her cleavage to perfection.

I cleared my throat. “Do you have a wrap or something to wear?”

She frowned. “A wrap?”

Nodding, I made my way over to her, slowly taking in every single inch of her skin. Stopping in front of her, I ran my finger gently along her exposed cleavage. Hearing her suck in a breath had my dick growing hard in my pants.

“If a single guy looks at you the wrong way tonight, I might have to kill him.”

She chuckled. “This is the very first dress I ever designed. When Georgiana saw it, she suggested having the fabric crisscross like this on the bodice. It gives the illusion that it hugs my waist more.”

“It’s stunning, Morgan. I’ll be honest, though, you’d look beautiful in a potato sack.”

She smiled. “Thank you, Ryan.”

I brought my hands to her waist and pulled her to me. “The moment we get back here, I’m going to slowly unwrap this dress from you.”
