“But it looks so good on you.” I winked at her, and she giggled. A few minutes later, we headed back to the car with the hat, a few other trinkets she saw up by the counter, and a chocolate snack I knew she had to try.

It didn’t take too long to get to the house from the downtown area. We could’ve walked, but I didn’t want to worry about the luggage. The moment we pulled up outside the Swiss chalet-style home, Georgia gasped. I knew she’d love this home, too, especially when she saw the views of the mountains and the lush woods around the back of the home. Sometimes, wildlife would come right into the backyard.

I opened the door and helped her out as her eyes stayed focused on the house. Her eyes traced the steeply sloped roof as she stared at the rustic masterpiece. Dark wood, multiple windows with thick panes, and a wide chimney were only a few of the features of the large house.

“This is amazing,” she said, turning to look at me. “You could glue some candy to it and make it seem like it was made totally of gingerbread.”

Her comment made me chuckle. “Would you like to go inside?”

“Yes, please.”

I took her hand and walked with her up the walkway while our bags were unloaded. The door was unlocked since I had a maid and butler here to help out until we got settled. Inside, like she had in Maui, Georgia took it all in.

“That fireplace isginormous,” she said, standing in the middle of the great room. “I love all of the exposed beams, and the views are spectacular.” She didn’t run from room to room like she had last time, but she was certainly impressed.

“I thought you’d like it here.” My mind went to Kaylee for a moment. She had enjoyed this place as well.

Georgia and I went upstairs. I showed her the main bedroom, which was a bit more modern than most chalets, with a jetted tub in the bathroom as well as a massive shower with three showerheads, including a rainfall head in the center.

After Georgia finished exploring the four bedrooms upstairs, she walked back into the main bedroom. “This is amazing,” she said, coming over to where I was standing, looking out the window. “I didn’t think I would be as impressed as I was in Maui, but I am.”

I leaned down and kissed her. “I’m glad you like it. Why don’t you go take a shower in here and get ready for dinner, and I’ll use one of the secondary bathrooms?”

“You don’t want to take a shower with me?” Her eyes were wide as she blinked up at me.

Laughing, I said, “If I did, we’d never make it to dinner.”

She laughed, too. I bent down to kiss her, savoring the taste of her. How was it that every time I looked at her, she was more beautiful than the last? I was beginning to fall for this woman, and there was nothing I could do to stop myself.

The restaurant that Beau took me to on our first night in Switzerland was something out of a storybook. The moment we walked inside, I felt like I’d stepped into a Swiss folktale. The walls were rustic, like in Beau’s house, with rich wood and stones. Adorned with cuckoo clocks, mounted animal heads, and what appeared to be antique farming utensils, this place could’ve been a Swiss lodge.

A large fireplace filled the main dining room. We walked past it into a smaller, more intimate dining room where several couples who were dressed just as nicely as we were, in suits and gowns, sat enjoying their meals. Fresh flower centerpieces decorated each table atop crisp white tablecloths. I couldn’t help but smile as I took it all in. I had a feeling this was a place I was never going to forget.

The hostess spoke perfect English with a Swiss accent. She treated Beau with such respect, I had a feeling she either knew who he was, or she could’ve just been one of those people who was overly polite to everyone. Still, she led us to a lovely table and waited until we were situated to tell us our waiter would be here shortly. Then she nodded politely and walked away.

“Well, what do you think?” Beau asked, grinning at me. “Do you like it?”

“I love it,” I told him. “It’s so cozy but also elegant in a way.” It was hard to say exactly what the place made me think of. All I knew for certain was that it made me happy, and I loved that this was another experience I was getting to have with this wonderful man.

“I remember the first time I came here.” Beau looked around, a nostalgic look on his face. “It seemed like something out of Swiss Family Robinson—without the stranded part.” He chuckled, and I laughed, too.

“I was going to compare it toHeidi, but I think that might be German.” We both got a giggle out of that as well. Only the waiter arriving with menus and glasses of water stopped us from continuing to laugh at our own images of where we’d ended up tonight.

Once the waiter walked away, I opened the menu and raised both eyebrows. It was written in Swiss and English, but I had no idea what most of the dishes were. I’d always been a fairly adventurous eater and was willing to try anything, but I also liked to know what it was I was putting in my mouth.

“What looks good to you?” Beau wore a slight smirk on his face, as if he knew I had no idea what I was looking at and found it amusing.

“I have no idea,” I said with a shake of my head. “I was hoping you could make some recommendations.”

“I can,” Beau assured me. “Do you like swine intestines?”

I stared at him, mouth agape. “Is that on the menu?”

“Well, it is part of most sausages.” He only grinned at me. I hadn’t thought about it that way.
