“This has nothing to do with business,” she said.

I grinned and shook my head. “No, it doesn’t. I’m going to change.”

I went to my room and changed into a pair of swim trunks. When I reappeared, she was on the lower deck.

“Going in?” I asked.

“What? No! It’s too cold.”

“Nah,” I said and pulled off the shirt I had put on.

I dropped it on the deck, flashed her a grin, and jumped in. She stood at the edge of the deck looking down at me.

“You said nothing about swimming,” she complained.

“You’re wearing a bikini,” I said. “Don’t tell me you weren’t a little tempted to feel the saltwater washing over your skin.” Then a thought occurred to me. “Do you know how to swim?”

“Yes, I know how to swim,” she shot back.

“Then come in, the water’s great!”

MACY

Ididn’t know what this guy was trying to pull, but I didn’t trust him. He was playing games. After what he had done to me last week, there was no way I was going to let him pull the wool over my eyes again. I couldn’t even believe I was out here with him now. To be fair, he had hoodwinked me. I would have put up more of a fight if I had known he was going to drag me out on his damn yacht.

Of course, he had a yacht. I had no idea how wealthy he was. He was rich, handsome, and powerful. The man had it all. Part of me wondered what could have been. I wasn’t sure I believed we would have ever been more than that hot fling in Vegas. We had been drunk. There was no chance we ever would have had an actual relationship. He was from a totally different world. I was not a part of his world of money.

But that didn’t mean I couldn’t have some fun while I was out here. When was the next time I would ever be on a yacht?

“You know, I think I’m going to need a promotion after this,” I shouted loud enough for him to hear me.

“You need a promotion because I took you out on my yacht?”

“Yes,” I said.

I undid the button on the shorts and stripped out of them. He was looking up at me like he wanted to eat me. That was good. I wanted him to want what he couldn’t have. He thought this was a game. I wasn’t going to let him win.

I dove in without worrying about my hair or makeup. I hoped I splashed him. When I came up for air, he was laughing. I splashed him again.

“Does this count as a perk?” he asked.

“Drowning your employees is not a perk,” I shot back.

He was grinning like an idiot. Damn if the man wasn’t sexy as hell. Why did he have to be so attractive? It sucked. I wanted him. I shouldn’t want him after what he had done.

“You seem to be floating just fine,” he replied.

“That’s not the point. Why did you bring me out here?”

“Like I said, I was feeling a little stressed,” he replied.

He was slowly getting closer to me. His blue eyes looked even bluer with the water reflecting against them. His thick black lashes clung together with the water. He was smiling at me, his perfect teeth practically glistening.

“Are you feeling less stressed?” I asked.

He nodded. “I think so. I could use a little more time out here to really destress.”
