Before we can register what she said, Abilene pulls a knife from I don’t even fucking know where and stabs Sonya in the throat. She holds it there momentarily as Sonya makes those gross noises before pulling it out. Blood pools from Sonya’s neck as Abilene drops the knife. When she turns around, I’m prepared to see the evil that just showed up, but all I see is the woman we all know and love. It’s like a switch was flipped, and she was reset.

She looks at Butcher,“Anything else, dear? We’ve got a huge shipment arriving in about twenty, and I’d like to be there.”

“Nope, that’s all,” he tells her as she plants a kiss on his cheek, and he smacks her ass.

Once she leaves the room, Willie says what we’ve all been thinking,“So…. That just happened.”

Audrina and I moved the kids into her home. We would banish the ghosts of her past and build our life on its ashes.

Dillon is so happy he is getting his own room. He asked Gunkle Turd to come over and help him paint it a deep blue. While we were doing that, Willie showed up and airbrushed a fantastic mural of a sunset in Baby Girl’s room. It was full of pinks, purples, and yellows that brought everything together. Audrina cried when she saw it.

I am now on my way home from the courthouse. I have a surprise for Audrina and my baby girl. It’s time to do something I should have done long ago. But nothing felt right until I overheard Dillon playing with her, and it made me think of my mom. My mom’s name meant queen, and it felt fitting when I heard it. But I also didn’t want her to lose the dedication to my niece. No matter what, Marley was family, and I was proud that I had the chance to be her uncle.

Judging by the smell, when I walked into the house, Audrina was wrapping up supper. The usual clamor of kids, who always tackled me when I walked in, was missing. Kicking off my boots, I hang up my jacket on my hook at the door. I look around and take notice of the candles and flowers all over the place.

“Amour?” I call out, looking at everything set up on my way to the kitchen. I hear Audrina curse and drop something.“What’s going on here? Where are the kids?” I ask, leaning on the door frame. Audrina is on the floor picking up the lettuce that has fallen on the ground.

She stands, and I take in her skin-tight navy dress—a heart-shaped neckline showing off her perfect little handfuls of breasts. The dress hugs her hips and thighs. Thighs that are meant to be caressed and held onto while I take her body and soul to new plains. My cock starts to stand at attention. Audrina has her hair down in light waves; the deep auburn color compliments her milky white skin. She looks like a perfect porcelain doll, and she is mine now.All mine.

“You weren’t due home for a bit longer. I wanted to surprise you. I got a babysitter and everything.” Audrina explains, running her hands down her dress, almost like she is self-conscious about her appearance. Every time I see the doubt in her eyes or her mannerisms, it makes me want to kill that fucker all over again.

“I left early. I went down to the courthouse and did something long overdue.” I slowly make my way to her.“You look amazing, but I am jealous of this dress.” I want to run my hands along her curves, especially now that I know I won’t be interrupted.

“I wanted to surprise you,” she repeats, shaking her head,“I mean, I wanted to make this night special. For us.”

“Every night with you and our kids is special. But I appreciate the alone time.” I take her hands and pull her close to me. She has music playing softly, and whenThis is Usby Jimmie Allen and Noah Cyrus comes on, I can’t stop myself from asking,“Dance with me?” When she gives me a slight nod, I pull her close and slowly sway with her.

Audrina wraps her arms around my neck, and I lead her around the kitchen. Our eyes never leave the other’s face. I thought I was whole the moment I got my kids. They’re safe, happy, and healthy. I thought I didn’t need anything else. With Audrina in my arms and life, this is what it means to be whole.

I hold her close as I listen to the words and hope she can feel what I’m trying to say. She’s it for me. What we have, is love. Everything that we’ve been through is what makes us. I am so in love with her. I want to tell her daily. I want to hold her in my arms at all times and love her for the rest of my life.

“I’m ready,” Audrina whispers as the song ends, and we slowly stop dancing.

“Ready?” My heart stops. She can’t mean—No, it’s only been a few months since the whole thing. She doesn’t mean that.

“I am ready for you to make an honest woman out of me. To be your Ol’Lady. But before we do that, I need you to take me here first.” she rushes the words out. I’m lost. Before we do what? My brain fried when she told me she wants to be mine officially. Even though we all know she has been mine from the moment I laid eyes on her.

“Before? Before what?”

“I don’t want our first time to be in church in front of your brothers. I want our first time to be here, just the two of us. I want you to claim me, but I want this moment to be more about us.” Audrina thinks she’s explaining herself, but I am even more lost than before.

“Audrina, I love what you are telling me. I want to love you in that way. It will always be the two of us. Always. But what do my brothers have to do with anything? Especially in the sex department.”

Her face goes red, and she mumblesthose bitchesa few times. Audrina leans forward and hides her face in my chest. I can’t help the shake of laughter that comes out. I can only guess who she is referring to, but I am sure Ashlynn has something to do with it. The love of my life pulls back and looks at me, her milky skin flushed pink with embarrassment.

“When we were having our burn party, the girls, well Ashlynn,”called it,“said that for me to become an Ol’Lady, you needed totake mein church while the brothers watched.” She hid her face in her hands again, groaning. I burst out laughing, wrapping her up in my arms.

“Do you really think Judge, Cowboy, hell, even Storm, would let us see their women in that position?” I ask Audrina as she pulls back and looks at me.

“I remember walking into the kitchen more than once and seeing Judge in mid mount of Mama El. I really don’t think they care.” But she stops and looks like she is thinking about it.“But Cowboy is too protective of Bri. I can’t see that at all. That bitch. Why did I believe her?”

“Forget all that. Are you sure you are ready? Because I am more than okay with enjoying the night and holding you close. We can watch a movie, maybe cop a feel, but we don’t have to do more than that.” I look her in the eye, looking for any sign that she is doing this for me and not her. I will never push her past what she is willing and wants to do.

“I have never been more ready for anything in my life.” she pulls my face to hers, kissing any doubt I had away.

“I
