“Yes, fuck, amour. Your pretty pussy is milking me. I’m gonna come. Oh…shit.”

He slams into me one more time and holds himself there. I can feel thick pulses as he empties into me. I lay my chest down on the table as he continues to come deep inside me. Taking deep breaths, I try to control myself, but it’s useless. He’s worked me up, and I’m not sure I’ll ever come down from this high.

I feel his body cover mine before his lips caress my cheek.

“I love you, Audrina.”

I push myself up, and his body adjusts with mine.“I love you too,” I tell him as I kiss his lips.“Thank you for giving me this.”

“I’ll give you anything you ask me for, even the things you don’t.”

The weather is still mild for the time of year, so we are walking around downtown Wyman. Audrina pushes Malika in her stroller while Dillon runs slightly ahead of us. I want to keep him at my side, but I don’t. He’s been doing so well since the incident; I don’t want to put a damper on him. Plus, his few steps ahead are one of mine. He bends down and grabs something from the ground. I smile as he twirls around, holding out a dandelion for Audrina.

“Mom, I picked this just for you,” he smiles brighter as she thanks him and takes it from him.

He started doing that on his own one day, and when neither of us corrected him, he kept up with it. He chose Audrina. It was something that I knew she wanted, but we were both waiting for him to make the choice. Malika took to it as soon as Dillon did. She’s her brother’s parrot.

I can’t get over the fact that this is my life now. I am a family man with the woman of my dreams, and my kids are happy and healthy. While the underlying threat is still there, I am not letting it control my life. I refuse to miss out on anything with my little family due to the fear of the unknown.

Enjoying this time that we have, we all look through the windows of the little shops. It’s easy to forget how quaint and beautiful Wyman is—especially lately. After passing a couple more shops, Dillon stops and watches another young family walk around town.

A mom and dad are swinging a little girl between them. Audrina keeps walking, patting him on his head as she passes, stopping at the shop one door down to look in the window. I stop behind him, watching him as the wheels turn in his head.

“Dad,” he finally says, looking from the family to Audrina looking in a window some distance ahead of us.

“Yes?”

“If you go away like my birth mom, does that mean I get to stay with Audrina because she’s my mom now?” His eyes look up at me, waiting for the highly complex answer to his question.

“Oh, buddy. You don’t need to worry about that. You won’t be leaving our family. Nothing is going to happen to me.” It’s all I can tell him right now. A flash of light glints off a big building covered in windows just beyond Audrina and Malika, giving me an idea.“Do you want to share your last name with Mommy?” I ask him. His head probably would have flown off with how hard he nodded yes. I whisper the plan in his ear, and he runs to Audrina as I jog behind him.

“Do you want to be my mom forever?” Dillon yells at her. She spins, and he wraps his arms around her waist; she instantly hugs him back.

Kissing his head, she responds,“I’m sorry. I thought I was your forever mommy. Are you thinking about getting a new one?” She asks with a smile.

“No. I don’t want another one. I want you to be my mom and stay with us forever. But doyouwant to be my forever mommy?” He takes her hand and gets on one knee.

I come up beside Dillon, drop to one knee, and watch as her eyes almost escape their sockets.

“What do you think, amour? Be the mom the kids deserve. The mom the kids want. They love you as much as I do. They aren’t the only ones that want you in their lives forever. I can’t go a day without you. You’ve brought happiness to not only me but my children. You’ve loved all three of us without being asked. You’re one of the reasons I have for getting up every morning, and I can’t do any of this without you. You’re the strength I never knew I needed. You’re the reason why I have my kids and the reason why they know a mother’s love. Marry me, and permanently join our family? Last name and all?”

Audrina’s hands shoot up and cover her face. She looks from me to Dillon, tears in her eyes. I hear her whispering,‘oh my god’repeatedly.

“Yah!” Malika screams. I know she doesn’t understand what’s going on, but I can’t help the laugh that comes up.

“Yes!” Audrina yells. Dillon and I jump up and wrap her in our arms.

I kiss her before I pull back and look into her eyes,“I love you, amour. I can’t wait to start this journey with you.”

Malika starts cheering, mimicking her brother, even though she was facing away from the excitement.

Dillon continues to cheer and tell his sister about Audrina agreeing to be their forever mommy.

“I can’t wait to tell the girls! They love putting things like this together.” Audrina pulls back and wipes the joyful tears from her face.“When do we want to get married?”

“Today?” I point to the courthouse. She looks from me to the courthouse and nods.

With the paperwork filled out and the fees paid, we are now sitting, waiting for our turn in front of the judge. Dillon is jumping on the balls of his feet while Malika sleeps in her stroller. The excitement she didn’t understand and her belly full of snacks became too much for her. Audrina ran to the small boutique on the corner because she refused to get married in jeans and a tank top.
