“Stop ruining my fun,” I teased, and stroked him up and down.

He balled his hands into fists as I worked my hand up and down, my lips wrapping around him and sucking. His whole body was tense, and the guttural moans he was making had my hand working faster, my lips following my strokes.

“Fuck,” he growled, weaving his hand into my hair and tugging gently. “You’re so fucking beautiful like this. On your knees, ready to take my cock.”

I moaned around him, letting him fuck my mouth the way he wanted.

“Look at me, my beautiful fucking star.”

My eyes were on his as he pumped his hips. He thrust deeper, and I opened my mouth wider, trying to fit as much of him in my mouth as I could. Precum dripped on my tongue, and I reached up, caressing his balls as his thighs trembled.

He had me up in a flash, his mouth crashing into mine, biting my lower lip. “Let me fuck that pretty pussy.”

My chest heaved as he flipped me around and pinned my hands over my head. Water poured over us, the tiny drops making my skin tingle in the best of ways. He thrust into me, and I gasped, still sore from the hours of lovemaking that had taken place all morning.

“You feel so good.” He licked up the side of my neck, his teeth grazing my ear. “So fucking wet for me all the time, greedy girl.”

“Yes,” I breathed and pushed back into him. “Fuck me, Cian. Please.”

He wrapped his hand gently around my throat and pumped his hips, faster, harder. The noises coming from my mouth didn’t sound human, but I didn’t care. All that mattered was that he didn’t stop. He reached his other hand down and rubbed my clit, his hand on my throat squeezing just a little tighter. “Oh, God, don’t stop,” I moaned.

“Never,” he growled as he hammered into me.

A tingling sensation started at the top of my head and moved down my spine until I shattered around him, screaming out his name as I came. He grabbed onto my hips and fucked me without mercy, our skin slapping against each other as he growled out his release a moment later.

I laid my head on the bathroom wall, gasping for air as my body came back to earth. He turned off the water and wrapped me in a giant towel, carrying me to bed.

A while later, he left a message for Delove. We waited for Delove to call back, but he never did, and the frustration of realizing I had to go back home was enough to make me sick. Tomorrow. Tomorrow this would all be over. It had to be.

“What the hell do you mean there’s no video?” I stood in front of Delove and Dobbs in the apartment upstairs from our temporary office, my nostrils flaring. “How can that be possible?” I was on the verge of tears. Not because of sadness, or even desperation, but tears of absolute anger.

“Nova, calm down.” Delove held his hands up. “Let me show you.” He opened a laptop and pressed play on the screen. The video was grainy, and dark, and you could just make out the boxes of old computer equipment. It cleared slightly, and I could see the railing, but once I got closer to the open area, the video turned to static and stopped completely. “See? There’s nothing here.”

Cian stomped over to the kitchen, slamming his hand on the counter. “Fuck,” he muttered and lowered his head.

“Maybe you turned it off,” Dobbs said, his tone accusing.

“Oh, yeah, that’s a real smart theory,Agent. How about your stupid equipment doesn’t work the right way, and you guys are the fuck-ups here, not me?” I snapped. There was a rock the size of a boulder in my stomach, and bile rose in my throat.

“Calm down, Nova.” Cian dragged me down to the couch and wrapped his arm around me. I didn’t miss the surprised look that flashed across Delove’s face. “Can you get the video back?” Cian asked, his voice a lot calmer than mine had been moments ago. My leg bounced up and down, and I stared daggers at Dobbs. He loosened his tie and looked anywhere but my face.

Delove sighed, shaking his head. “No. There’s nothing there. I get the feed directly as a live stream, and nothing came through. There’s nothing to get back.”

I threw my hands up in the air. “Well, what now? I was there. I saw Ryzen meet with Voledetti. I saw him give him money. That’s worth something, right? I could testify. Cian saw it too. We could both testify.” I looked at Cian, my eyes pleading. “Right?”

He squeezed me closer and nodded.

“What exactly wereyoudoing there, Blackwood? Kind of odd you just happened to show up.” Dobbs narrowed his eyes at Cian, and it took all my willpower not to jump over the coffee table and strangle him.

“I was doing what you were supposed to be doing—making sure she’s safe. Looks like you can’t even do that, Agent Dobbs.” Cian’s voice was low, menacing, and Dobbs stiffened, but didn’t say anything else.

“I’m sorry, Nova. I really am. But you have to continue.” Delove sighed and closed his laptop. “If Ryzen met with Voledetti once, he’ll do it again. And then we’ve got him.”

“We just had him,” I snapped and stood up. “I’m taking all the risks here. I’m finding all the evidence. Do your damn jobs, because I am sick of this.” I stormed towards the door connecting the units.

“Where are you going?” Delove called after me.
