Ugh. I slid my phone to the other side of the desk.

A rap on the door drew my attention away from my rising anger.

Declan was leaning on the door frame, looking way too delicious for his own good. Being stuck indoors, he didn’t wear the jeans that molded to his figure—the ones I had a great appreciation for. No. He opted for a pair of black sweats and a gray t-shirt that stretched across his beautiful chest.

Thomas stood beside him with his hands in his pockets, wearing something similar. Gray sweats and a white t-shirt. When Declan smirked, I felt the blush creep into my cheeks. I was pretty sure I hadn’t blinked once, and it was very possible I had drool dripping from my lips. Just in case, I wiped at the corner of my mouth. His look made me think he knew every dirty thought that crossed my mind.

“We came to see if we could pull you away for lunch.” Thomas smiled, and I couldn’t help but return it.

“Yes, please. I could use a break from things out of my control this morning.” I got up and walked over to the door, only to be blocked by their huge frames.

Thomas’ eyebrows pinched together, concern marring his stern jaw.

“Is everything all right?”

“It’s fine,” I lied.

Thomas’ jaw ticked. He clearly wasn’t convinced, but he was polite enough not to push.

I reached out and placed my hand on Thomas’ stomach, gently nudging against the rock-hard abs I felt beneath his shirt. He slowly stepped to the side and turned. I knew without a doubt he let me move him out of the way.He was like a brick wall.

In the kitchen, Helen had left out platters of food for lunch. Meats, cheese, fruit, crackers, and salad.

“Jessie messaged that dinner was lasagna tonight. She makes the best lasagna,” Declan said as he bit into an orange slice. My eyes tracked his tongue as he licked the juice from the ripe fruit.

I jerked my head around at the sound of Thomas clearing his throat. Declan chuckled behind me.

“Is that okay with you?” Thomas asked, lifting an eyebrow.

“Is what okay?”Shit.Had I missed something?

“I asked if you liked lasagna, or should we put in a request for something different?” The corners of his mouth tilted up.

“Oh. Yes. I love it. I can’t wait to try Jessie’s.” I busied myself with putting together my next bite of meat, cheese, and cracker.

Conversation picked up between the guys about what they were able to get done this morning. It seemed like the snow was easing, and the crew had all checked in regularly.

Lunch went by quickly, and we all returned to our offices. It barely felt like any time had passed when Thomas was sticking his head in to let me know it was time for dinner. I smiled as I got up. It was cute that they came and got me for each meal. Almost domestic-like.

“How much work do you think you have left for the day?” Declan asked after we finished dinner. Jessie, Stefan, and Mikel had already retreated to their side of the house.

“I’m pretty much done. Why? Is something wrong?”

“Not at all. We were going to relax by the fire tonight and maybe watch a movie. Want to join us?”

“Sure,” I said, hoping my eagerness wasn’t apparent in my voice.

Thomas smiled and walked first into the living room, sitting down on one side of the couch. Declan sat down in the armchair, leaving me to sit next to Thomas. I tucked my feet under me and settled into the plush cushions.

“So, what shall we watch?” Declan picked up the remote. “Alex, do you like action, romance, comedy, horror?”

I laughed when he wagged his eyebrows like horror was a tempting offer.

“No horror, please. I’ll be up all night, unable to sleep if we do.” I shivered. I hated horror movies. “Is there some action movie out you guys want to see?”

“I don’t remember the last time we sat down and watched a movie, to tell you the truth. It’s kind of nice to have a night to relax.” Thomas kicked his feet up on the coffee table and settled on the couch. I would have thought it hard to believe, but it had been a while since I’d been able to do that, too.

Sitting with them felt good, felt right. Maybe I needed to rethink how I spent my evenings and who I spent them with.
