“Yeah, I’m not ending up with a giant dick tattooed on my arm,” I said.

“You could choose the location on your body,” Dom said. “We just get to choose the design.”

Now that, I could get into. We probably wouldn’t make it to fifteen wins—that was a long streak. And if by chance we did, I could get the ink on a place I never had to see.

“Okay…but how big would it be? I’m not getting my whole back inked for you assholes.”

“Boys?” Dom asked.

“At least nine square inches,” Beau suggested. “Three by three.”

That wasn’t very big. And agreeing to it would save my body hair from the waist down.

“Alright,” I said.

Dom’s face lit up. “Just so we’re clear, you’re agreeing that if we win fifteen games in a row, you’ll get waxed from the waist down while I live-stream it and you’ll get a tattoo of the team’s choosing that is at least nine square inches and you get to choose where it goes.”

I nodded, although a little apprehensively. “Right. Now let me get back to stretching.”

There were a few guys grumbling about the new deal, saying now they wouldn’t get anything out of this new deal. I kept my expression neutral, but inside I as relieved. I’d gotten the better end of that.

A team intern walked into the locker room and approached me.

“Mr. Barrett, Chloe from the front office asked me to tell you that your guests are seated and they have everything they need.”

“Great, thanks,” I said, wishing I could remember the intern’s name.

“Guests?” Colby asked. “Is Mama Barrett in town?”

He loved my mom and never missed a chance to invite himself over for her home-cooked meals.

“No, it’s Elle and her brother.”

“Elle as in Eleanor Lawrence?” Dom asked from nearby.

“Yeah.” I met his gaze. “Why?”

“Are you seeing her?”

Conversations around us went silent as people started listening to the one Dom and I were having. I didn’t want to do this right now, but I would.

“Yeah, I am,” I said.

Dom’s expression transformed into one of disgust and betrayal. “After all the shit she’s said about our team and the new arena?”

“She’s just doing her job.”

“The fuck she is,” he said. “You just saw a nice piece of ass and”

I quickly covered the feet between us and slammed him against the wall. “Don’t talk about her like that. Don’t you ever talk about her that way again.”

“Or what? You plan to kick the asses of every guy on this team?”

I looked around at my teammates’ faces. “Who else has a problem with me and Elle Lawrence?”

There was silence until Beau finally spoke up.

“I don’t have a problem with it. She’s been opposed to hockey for a long time so it’s nothing new. If you’re happy, I’m good.”
