"Thank you, Edward," Ismael said and then added. "I don't think we can say that enough." Edward nodded with a subtle grin, and they disappeared.

Ismael, Silas, and Ira met Louis and Ezra on the terrace. Ezra was awake and recovering in Louis' arms. He was bright and vivacious and alive, and it was all thanks to the Black Prince and that pain-in-the-ass sorcerer Batiste.

Cooper felt like the day had been a whirlwind from start to finish, first finding out about Edward to being on the receiving end of a warlock's demands and seeing the demise of that monster at the hands of light and shadow as Batiste had described. "I never want to associate with magics again. They are wicked people. Except for you, of course; you are the balm to my soul and the light in my heart." Cooper said and giggled when Edward picked him up in his arms and carried him up the winding stone stairs to his bedroom at the top.

"I need you in my arms and in our bed, my love. I need to feel you living and breathing beside me and beneath me." He said provocatively, and again, Cooper couldn't help the silly giggle that escaped his lips.

"Let's stay in and have breakfast in bed tomorrow. I've had enough of the life-threatening activities we've been engaging in lately." Cooper joked, but Edward caught his breath and froze for just a moment. He then buried his face in Cooper's neck and just held him tightly in his arms.

"I never want to be so scared again, so scared that something would happen to you and that I would not be able to save you. This day although necessary, will never be repeated. Never again will you be used as bait for a deranged warlock or anyone for that matter. You are too precious and important, and I love you too much." Edward was trembling, and Cooper immediately wrapped his arms around his neck to comfort and soothe him.

"You will always save me." He told him and then peppered kisses to his face and neck as Edward carried him to their bed and laid him down. Edward was not of a mind to wait, so with a swipe of his hand, their clothes disappeared. He was gratified by the huge smile on Cooper's face.

"I love how you do stuff like that. It makes life so interesting and expedient." Edward chuckled, and the sound was so strange it caught him for a moment, and then he did it again. Cooper was bringing him back to life.

"He massaged his lover's body loosening the muscles and preparing him for their lovemaking. He never bothered to prep lovers in the past either they prepared themselves, or they proceeded without but with Cooper, the prep was part of the entire lovemaking experience. This foreplay was becoming something he looked forward to and planned.

His lover was so reactive to his touch that anything he did elicited delightful reactions. He never realized just how lonely he was until Cooper entered his life and literally turned on the lights. He thanked Fate for her generosity and trust and vowed to be everything this little man required and desired for as long as Fate allowed.

Edward pushed Cooper closer to the headboard and told him to hold on. He gripped the spires that made up the headboard and waited as Edward hovered over him, positioning himself and watching every expression as it crossed Cooper's face. He circled his hips a couple of times, teasing and feeding the look of anticipation that Cooper was wearing. He then hiked Cooper's thighs with his own and plunged inside, burying himself to the hilt in Cooper's beautiful body.

The sensations racing through him as he thrust inside over and over and the sound of his lover so passionate and eager were things of daydreams, and now this was his reality. "I love you, Cooper he said breathlessly and kissed him hard while hammering inside to bring them both the satisfaction of completion.

Cooper gripped his upper arms and raised his hips in rhythm with Edward's thrusts multiplying their pleasure with every move. It wasn't long, and he felt his climax rising to the surface, filling him with a hunger for this man. He would never get enough of Cooper Sloane, the water mage and love of his entire life. He slammed inside as he bit down on the mating scar and drank his fill will pumping stream after steam of warm seed inside Cooper's velvety channel. His love for this man grew with every passing minute and every passionate encounter.

"I love you so much, Edward." Cooper panted while Edward fed, causing Cooper to come hard, filling the space between them with his warm essence. "Everything you do and say excites me." Cooper continued with a litany of lovely things that Edward ate up.

He finished and licked the scar until the wound was closed and then lay down on top of his sweet lover. "You are everything to me, Cooper, and I look forward to us building our lives together. I look forward to years of holding you in my arms and years of telling you how much I love you."

"I've never had anyone who ever put me first. Never had anyone who I could count on or lean on. I never had anyone, and now I have you, the answer to my prayers." He sounded like he was choking up, so Edward slid out of his tight embrace and positioned himself to the side so he could take Cooper into his arms. "I prayed for you every night. I prayed for someone strong, committed, loyal, and devoted. I prayed for someone I could lean on who would love me and never leave. I prayed for you." Cooper's confession struck him, and he could not speak for a few minutes.

"I prayed for you too, Cooper. I prayed for someone sweet, kind, and devoted who could love me with all my scars and struggles. Someone who would look past my shortcomings and see the man that I was. I prayed for you, and Fate delivered." Edward kissed him again, and Cooper snuggled into his chest, and they fell silent for a few minutes.

"If you'd like to search for your family, I would be honored to help." Edward offered, knowing that Cooper had been raised in care and had never known his family.

"I'm not interested in finding them. I didn't need them then, and I don't need them now. All I need is you." Cooper told him and snuggled a little closer.

"The offer is open in case you change your mind," Edward whispered and threw the blanket over them.

"Thank you, but honestly, I don't need them. My family is here; my family is you."

"And my family is you, sweetheart. We will build this life together." Edward wrapped his arms around him a little tighter taking great pride in the promise of this new life.

"Do you think we could adopt?" Cooper asked out of left field, and Edward began to chuckle.

“Of course, we can, but let’s discuss that tomorrow.” Edward loved this man so much he couldn’t get his head around how deep he had burrowed into his heart.

"I love you, Cooper; now go to sleep. You need your rest."

"I love you too, Edward. Do you think we should try for a girl or a boy or both? You have a big place here?"

“Good night.”

THE END
