“Well, now that we’re officially just employer and employee, I don’t want to do anything that could be considered sexual harassment,” he said softly.

“What?” My jaw dropped. “What are you talking about?”

“I’m just thinking, now that I know that this is purely a work thing, I will have to be more business-like,” he said, grinning. “So hop in the shower and go to bed. I’ll expect breakfast at six a.m. Don’t be late.”

Boyfriend Count: Don’t even care anymore.

I was feeling hot and bothered as I entered the shower. I stared at my naked reflection in the mirror on the wall, and all I could think about was if Finn was actually in the bathroom here with me, touching me, kissing me, making love to me, doing all the things he told me about. I had wanted him to do it, and I’d been shocked when he just left the room and talked about sexual harassment.

I had no idea what he was going on about. I had no idea if he truly meant it. I didn’t think he did because why would he have kissed me and played with my breasts if he was worried about that? He was a game player, and that made me uncomfortable. Of course, I dealt with game players before, many men were, but I’d never dealt with one quite like him.

I sighed as I scrubbed my skin and shampooed my hair. I thought I heard a noise coming from the bedroom, but I wasn’t sure what it was. I was still waiting for Finn to walk into the bathroom to take me, but I was still alone.

After I conditioned and combed out my hair, I stepped out, wrapped one of the fluffy white towels around my body, and headed toward the bedroom. I gasped in surprise when I saw a package and a note on the bed. So maybe Finn had been in here.

I walked over cautiously and opened the envelope. The note simply said, “Harriet, wear this tomorrow.” I looked in the box and blushed. It was a small pink butterfly with elastic on either side. Finn wanted me to wear a vibrator on our trip to the fair.

“How is this not sexual harassment, Finn?” I said, shaking my head in disbelief. I smiled as I picked up the vibrator and moved it onto the nightstand. I grabbed my phone and saw that I’d missed a call from Molly and decided to ring her back to see what was going on.

“Hey. Where are you?” she said.

“At work.”

“Got a new job already? No way.” She sounded shocked. “You move fast.”

“Girl, you will not believe what happened to me,” I told her as I settled in under the sheets. “In fact, I need your advice.” Molly was crazy and annoying, but she knew a lot about guys.

“What’s your new job? Charlotte is so upset she’s had to work in the coffee shop because Delilah went off on her and told her no one knows how to use her new fancy espresso machine and that’s why you were using the Keurig. And turns out Charlotte doesn’t even know how to use the machine, either. And let’s just say it’s drama.”

“Oh, wow,” I said. That was not what I was expecting to hear.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if Charlotte calls you next week begging you to come back. I mean, on her knees, begging you. We’ve already had ten customers ask where you were because they say you put a smile on their faces.”

“Oh, that’s so nice.”

“Yep. So anyway, I thought you would want to hear that. But it sounds like you already have a job and…”

“Oh my God, girl. I’m a housekeeper,” I cut her off.

“You’re a what?” She sounded surprised. “Did you say what I think you just said?”

“Yes, I’m a housekeeper.”

“Like a maid?”

“Not a maid technically, but you won’t believe who my new boss is.”

“Do not say the President of the United States of America.”

“No. Really? Why would the president hire me as a housekeeper?”

“I don’t know, but that would certainly be shocking,” she said, and I laughed.
