“What?” Polly said innocently. “It’s not like you weren’t going on about how it was the best orgasm of your life and so much better than your dildoes and vibrators.”

“I didn’t say that,” I said.

“Your expression said it,” Chelsea said. “Your expression said, ‘That man got me off.’”

I rolled my eyes at them. “If you say anything like that tonight, I will kill you. I don’t care if you’re my sisters or not. I don’t care if Mom and Dad will kill me for killing you. You will both be dead.”

“Okay,” Chelsea said, shrugging. “Just try not to suck him off during the middle of dessert or something.”

“You’re sick. Really?” I glared at her as I tried to pretend the thought didn’t send a thrill through me.

“What?” Polly said. “Who knows what you might put on offer after you make a crappy meal?”

“I’m not going to make a crappy meal. I’m going to make something fantastic.”

“Really?” Polly said, raising a single eyebrow. “You really think you’re going to make something fantastic for a dinner party of twenty people?”

I stared at them. “Okay, maybe not fantastic with a capitalF, but at least pretty good.”

“You’re going to make something pretty good,” Chelsea said. “Like what?”

“I don’t know. Let’s go online at easy recipes dot com or a similar website and figure out what I can make.”

“Okay.” Polly and Chelsea exchanged glances. “We’re still going to get paid for serving even if the meal sucks, right?”

“Thanks for having so much faith in me, guys.”

“Hey, it doesn’t matter if we have faith in you or not,” Chelsea said, laughing.

“Finn does, which I totally do not understand why. For a smart man who’s one of the richest men in the world, you would think that he would have more smarts about him.”

“I know,” Polly said, frowning. “That’s been troubling me all day.”

“What?” I said, asking them curiously.

“Look, he met you at a coffee shop where you made him a seriously shitty cup of coffee, right?”

“Yeah.”

“And you had a seriously shitty attitude.”

“I wouldn’t say I had a seriously shitty attitude, but I maybe wasn’t the nicest.”

“Okay, so I mean it’s fair to say you didn’t impress him with your customer service skills.”

“I guess not,” I mumbled.

“So then you see this job advertisement and you come for the interview.”

“Yeah.”

“And basically the lady hiring doesn’t want to hire you.”

“She was a bitch,” I said, rolling my eyes. “Her name is Gladys, and it doesn’t matter.”

“Anyway, you still end up getting the job because Finn steps in and says he’s going to hire you anyway.”

“Yeah, because he felt guilty that he got me fired.”
