“Just because I can recognize a fine specimen when I see one does not mean I am a goner.”

She lowered her sunglasses and peered over them at me. “Are we still denying that you like that man and he likes you?”

I sighed and watched Aero, Dice, and Compass at one of the swim-up bars. We had gotten back to the hotel rather quickly, and I was a little let down that I wouldn’t be plastered to Aero’s back anymore, but all sadness had disappeared when Aero had taken his shirt off.

Whew, wee. Let me tell you.

I thought Aero was hot in his cut, but the man was downright delicious in nothing but swim trunks and sunglasses.

Sure, all the other guys looked good, too, but there was just something about Aero.

He did it for me, and I couldn’t deny it.

The man made my heart race and my insides tingle.

“So, what did you guys do this morning?” Dove asked.

“We went for a ride, got ice cream, and then came back here because I felt like I was baking like a lobster.” My eyes stayed on Aero as he grabbed two drinks from the bartender and moved to the side for Dice to grab his drink.

The pool was packed, and there were people everywhere, but I always seemed to be able to zone in on Aero.

He glanced in our direction and raised one of the drinks toward me.

“Girl, with all due respect, that man is hot, and if you don’t jump him like a fence, then you and I are going to have words. You do not let a man like that get away without at least getting a taste.”

“Dove,” I hissed. “He’s not an ice cream cone.”

She pushed her sunglasses back over her eyes. “That doesn’t mean you can’t lick him like he’s an ice cream cone.”

“Oh my god!” I yelped.

“Oh, don’t you act all innocent on me, Sloane. I’ve read some of your books, and licking that man like an ice cream cone is pretty damn tame.”

Well, it was, but still. She did not need to be talking about Aero like that.

“What about you and one of his friends?” I asked. “You can’t go wrong picking one of them.”

“Who said I had to pick just one?” Dove smirked.

“Are you two going to get into the water?” Aero called.

“You guys look pretty good from where Sloane and I are sitting,” Dove called. “Though I think Sloane could use some ice cream.”

My cheeks heated, and I was glad I was wearing sunglasses. “I’m good,” I ground out.

“We ordered some food, but not any ice cream.” Aero stood at the foot of my recliner and handed me a deep red drink. “I didn’t know what you drink, but I figured a strawberry daiquiri was a good choice.”

I grabbed the drink and took a sip. “Oh, yeah, that will do,” I laughed. It was sweet, boozy, and cold. Perfect for a hot Texas day.

“Did you want me to get some ice cream?” Aero asked.

I choked and waved my hand in the air. “I’m good,” I croaked.

Dove laughed mischievously next to me. “Maybe later she’ll want some.”

“Want to go for a swim before the food gets here?” Aero asked.

I set my drink on the table between Dove and me. “Watch my drink for me?”
