“Try the bathroom,” Meg called.

“The bathroom?” King asked.

“We had to get creative,” she shrugged. “Just be careful when you open cabinets.”

“Ten-four,” Hero called. “I’ve got the boys. They’re sick of hearing Meg and King grumble at each other.”

“Creative my ass,” he mumbled. “Why don’t you get creative with those T-shirts and start making money to pay the credit card bill for the mac and cheese?”

“I told you; we’re not making money off these T-shirts, Lo. Lennox is getting all the profit.”

King shook his head. “Then start selling the mac and cheese.”

King and Meg bickered back and forth, and I settled onto the couch.

It was good to be home.

Chapter Twenty-Seven

Lennox

“Ilove him, Nolan.”

Nolan’s low chuckle reverberated through the phone. “And I know his ass loves you. I don’t think I have ever met a man who would willingly write letter after letter to a chick he had never met in person. Though, I am in a place where there isn’t much else to do.”

“I can’t tell if that was an insult or not.”

“Nah, not an insult. The dude loves you, Len. I’m glad you two were able to find each other.”

I sighed and tipped my head back to the sky. “Me, too, Nolan. You do know it’s all thanks to you, right?”

“Because I was a dumbass and drove drunk?” he drawled.

“Uh, well, no. I meant you were the one who didn’t want to write me letters, so you pawned me off onto Jonas.” The sky was a pale, pretty blue, and there were barely any clouds in the sky. Later was going to be perfect for a ride with Jonas.
