Chapter Twenty-Eight

Snapper

“Meg is taking the boysovernight.”

I grabbed Lennox around the waist and pulled her into my arms. “And why is that?”

“Oh, well, I thought maybe we could go for a ride and just see where we end up. Explore my new hometown,” she suggested.

A week ago, Melody and Perry had pulled into Rockton with a U-Haul full of Lennox’s stuff. They had stayed a few days at the clubhouse while we sorted through Lennox’s things and decided to do some remodeling.

The club was my life, and I didn’t want to leave the clubhouse. I loved living there knowing at any time my family could be there. Well, for the most part, I liked having them around all the time. But for those times we wanted a little more privacy, we would be able to retreat to our own larger space.

The plan was for the grandkids to take over the club like the second generation had, but in the meantime, while they grew up, Lennox and I would make it our home.

Walls would be knocked down, and new ones built to better suit the growing family Lennox and I planned. At least two kids, and maybe even another puppy if we were crazy enough.

“You’ve seen all of Rockton, babe,” I laughed.

She pressed a kiss to my lips and shrugged. “Then show me more, Jonas. I really don’t care where we go as long as I’m with you. We’re free to go wherever, whenever,” she sighed.

“Free,” I whispered against her lips. “The exact thing I wanted for six years, and it’s even better than I imagined. You and freedom are all I will ever need.”

Her eyes connected with mine. “Let’s ride, handsome.” I could see the love that flowed unconditionally when she looked at me. We had a love meant to weather the storms and would never fade.

I had it all with Lennox in my life.

Every night this was what we did.

Lennox pressed against my back, and the open road in front of me.

This was my freedom ride for the rest of my life.

Free with Lennox.

The End
